2025 Team Defense & Defense by Committee Thread (4 Viewers)

Pats get Cleveland at home next week. Pats much better against the run than Tenn is. Judkins will be the primary focus and they'll force Gabriel to throw. Should lead to turnovers and sacks. Probably past streaming at this point and owned in most leagues.

The Vikings are really high surprisingly ROS but i do not like their schedule at all. It looks super tough. All the teams they face are good on offense.

Vikings must be really good though. They are ranked 2nd ROs on Fantasy Pros, but I don't buy it.
I have been looking at playoff matchups for D. I am hoping for a bye with MN for week 16 vs Giants and NE as well but do not like Buf and Balt weeks 15 and 16 -- Jets in Week 17 though
Until the offense gets things going and can sustain drives and take the pressure off the D....they are unstartable.

Sitting on the Colts for another week with a nice matchup in week 8, but the Bears are sitting on the waiver wire right now. Would you stick with Indy this week, or grab a hot Chicago defense for a nice stretch of matchups over the next few weeks?

Bills may be out there for next week. CAR and Young is hurt.
i think i'm rolling with the Bills this week.
I'm thinking the same thing. Dalton behind that line would be good for Bills Def I'd think.
Not to be that guy, but Dalton is a pretty smart veteran. He may just two step throw and dink and dunk em all game.
The Bills D has been bad recently. But they get 2 guys back off suspension, and might get healthier after the Bye. I'd consider them but they would not be at the top of my list, even with Dalton starting.

Deciding if I want to do what I say I never do.

Start a bad defense against a really bad offense.

Cinci against the Jets looks so salivating with Breece, Wilson, Tyrod, you name it all banged up.
My opponent is streaming Cincy against me this week and I couldn’t be happier about it! Bengals are the #31 dst in my league. There is such a concept as outsmarting one’s self.

I thought the same thing last week until Carolina def dropped 19 pts against me

Why is there not more talk about Chicago? They have had double digit scoring in every game except Detroit.
They are 1st in PPG, yet they are ranked 25th this week?
I think there’s a big difference between a Balt team without Lamar vs. with Lamar and he’s back this week right?

I think everyone assumes Lamar playing but if not they are a must play for sure.
I'm talking rest of year too.
Oh this is a weekly streaming D thread. I dont really play defenses rest of year. Way too much changes week to week.

Chargers' offensive star power will be tested by Vikings' exotic defenses on Thursday night

Excerpt:

Key matchup

Chargers’ third-down offense vs. Vikings’ defense. It’s strength against strength, as Los Angeles is moving the chains at a 46% clip to rank fourth in the NFL, while Minnesota is allowing conversions on 30.1% of opportunities as coordinator Brian Flores’ group is the second-best in football. Given the uncertainty with the Chargers up front, it will be crucial to stay out of obvious passing third downs in which Flores can utilize exotic pressures and blitzes to overwhelm the line. QB Justin Herbert is completing 57.8% of his third-down throws for 355 yards, five touchdowns and five interceptions with five sacks.

Baltimore D/ST has been lit up this season, but by really good offensive teams (Buffalo, Detroit, KC). After this weeks game against CHI, their schedule looks fairly inviting and just might be on your waiver wire:

CHI
@Mia
@Min
@Cle
NYJ
Cin
Pit
@Cin
Ravens have also been ridiculously injured on defense, and many of those will be back this week. The offense has also been bad because Lamar was out. They will certainly be better than they have been recently. Might not be this week, but they do look attractive long term, although with Flacco at an MVP level might not want them against the Bengals. Also might not want the Bengals offense against the Ravens if they get back to true form.

Fantasy sleepers NFL Week 8: Three running backs among 10 high-upside lineup plays

Excerpts:

Indianapolis Colts (6-1) vs. Tennessee Titans (1-6)

The Titans are trying to turn things around on offense. It’s going to be a process. So far, they’ve featured a low-volume offense that is ineffective on the ground and through the air. Don’t worry! The Titans make up for it by giving up a lot of sacks and turning the ball over frequently.

That plays right into the hands of the Colts. Indianapolis has a top six defense, thanks in part to 11 takeaways. Only the Jaguars and Bears have more. The Colts defense posted a 13-point fantasy day when the teams met in Week 3. We’ll see how much the Titans have improved since then, but the Colts should still be a strong streaming option in Week 8.

Los Angeles Chargers (4-3) vs. Minnesota Vikings (3-3)
The Vikings have a quarterback problem. J.J. McCarthy has been sidelined with an ankle injury since Week 2. Even so, head coach Kevin O’Connell didn’t seem eagerto throw the rookie back into the starting gig. The alternative is Carson Wentz, who treats quarterbacking like a personal adventure. That adventure frequently involves throwing the ball to the other team.

The Chargers will be glad to oblige should Wentz feel generous on Thursday night. Half of the team’s six interceptions have come in the past two weeks. If they can get pressure on Wentz, the likelihood of a pick goes up significantly. Streaming a defense on a Thursday can be sketchy, but the Chargers are in position to pay off such an unorthodox move.

Now it’s ok to dump the Vikings. No idea why certain places have them so high. The QBs put them in bad spots. Maybe it turns around with JJ but their schedule is rough.

Yeah enough of the Flores is some kind of defensive genius crap.
Grabbed Baltimore. Have them and Pitt currently. If Pearsall is out I may grab Atlanta too just for this week.
I know the Ravens D has been bad, but the next four games after the Bears are very juicy. Tua, McCarthy, Gabriel, and Fields/Tyrod. 😋

Might even just use them this week too vs Chicago. Harbaugh post bye.
