2025 Team Defense & Defense by Committee Thread (4 Viewers)

Thoughts on Miami this week? They have 10 sacks in the last 2 weeks and have been a pretty good fantasy D of late. They get slow, old, gimpy Rodgers next.
I’m tempted by the ‘fins as well but a little spooked by a night game in Pittsburgh with a hi temp of 20

Also have NE at home, but unsure which Bills offense will show up

And added Dallas, who I am leaning towards on the belief that JJMc’s 3 TD game is not repeatable
I am in the same exact boat

Dolphins have been pretty damn good lately, and did well against the Bills (held them to 13 pts, 3 sack, 3 turnovers). Top 5 fantasy defense last 5 weeks

Patriots have been solid for sure did okay enough against Bills first time. This time they get them at home which is definitely an advantage. The problem I worry about here is Josh Allen playing like a madman in December, and willing his team to a big win

Dallas vs Minnesota is enticing because I think McCarthy sucks. But they are so hard to trust in general because I could see this game turn into a shootout very easily. How are they going to cover Justin Jefferson, and they have a strong running game.

I am leaning towards Miami at the moment … where are you at ?
So I’m pretty sure I’m ruling out the Pats. Their three worst games were against the only Top 20 defensive points against teams they’ve played…Bills, Bucs and Falcons. They’ve earned their points against tomato cans so I’m going to take a pass for either of the teams with better matchups.

I may actually be with you on MIA, an average defense against a below average offense. DAL is a below average defense playing against a way below average offense.

I’m positioned in my league where higher floor is better than higher ceiling, but I’ll close the loop with you when I’m clearer.
Sounds good 👍

The Chicago Bears defense needs a get-right game. Sunday provides the perfect opportunity against a rookie QB, a depleted OL, and a three-win team in the Cleveland Browns. Expect pressure, sacks, and turnovers galore. #DaBears

Browns will be without 4 of their 5 starting OL from Week 1 on Sunday.

Joel Bitonio, the fifth, is listed as questionable.

Surprised Saints not talked about more.
They have a set and forget defense.
Doesn't get much better than Carolina,Jets and Tenn.
Except they are 21st in sacks. 20th in ints. 20th in forced fumbles. 23rd in rushing yards allowed. 20th in points allowed. Where they have been statistically decent is at passing yards allowed. I think that stat is deceiving because they are a 3 win team and other teams haven't had to throw. The matchups they have coming up are absolutely elite. The problem is they aren't a good defense. Having said all that, football is gonna football so who knows. Ha ha

Since I've been preaching the same thing about bad defenses in good matchups is fools gold most of the time, I'm wondering why I'm rostering the Saints defense in a few leagues
🤔

It's that feeling we get when we get something for free on the waiver wire and it hits. It's just an amazing feeling we chase time and time again. For every Michael Wilson we get for free and watch go off we pick up 10 others only to drop the following week. We dont remember the 10 we dropped, we only remember that one. Hold on. I gotta go pick up the Saints defense. Ha ha

Having me consider CHI over the SF D.

CHI D is strange. They don't get pressure on the QB yet they have a ton of INTs. Is the secondary that good and the D line that bad?
