I consider this a valuable tool when distinguishing player value, where is it?

He means the Dodds' 200 Forward Rankings not that customizable list. I think they don't have it ready so they have taken down the link in hopes we don't notice. I just wonder if it's for good or just this week. It's in the week 2 content, under Tuesday afternoon.I consider this a valuable tool when distinguishing player value, where is it?

If it's true, nice to see the old bag of tricks back already this season.
It's not. You're thinking the right way here - this version is way better. If you want David's standard list, just leave it set to the default "standard FBG scoring". But for most folks, this lets them dial in their scoring system and get a much better forward list.JWhy would Dodds's generic list be preferable to one that is customizable? He means the Dodds' 200 Forward Rankings not that customizable list. Thanks dj. We're trying. As I've said before, I worry about these lists so early with so many questions unanswered this early in the week but I realize folks want them and need them so we're trying to push things that way.JI was just happy that the customizable was up by mid-day ... keep it up guys!![]()
It is factoring the whole year. The customized list does not seem as good as the list you used to have. The list used to show all players ranked based on their value for the rest of the year. On the customized list I need to select a single week to create the list. Is there some way to run the list so it factors in the whole year?
Yes we want them before WW opens on Tuesday night! I also notice that you tweaked them as well ... when they initially came out Grant had a value, now he completely off the list and Jackson got a huge jump. One again. great job and keep it up!Thanks dj. We're trying. Could be I'm doing something wrong, but when I customize for my PPR league, it lists 13 RBs in a row before hitting the first WR and only has 3 WR in the top 30. That just doesn't seem right... does it?EDIT to say: Looked like I had the wrong number of starters that caused the problem. My bad...Thanks dj. We're trying. Joe,I liked the value system much better on the old system, it allowed you value your players for trading purposes.
Sorry, Joe, but Drinen's Customizable Top 200 is not the same as Dodds' top 250 going forward rankings that were available all last year and this year in week 1. Last week Dodds had Miles Austin and Roddy White #s 11 and 12 overall. If the Drinen article is supposedly the same set of rankings, why would they be moved down to 16 and 18 when they both had good weeks. These are someone else's rankings (probably Drinen's?) and you are insulting our intelligence by claiming that Drinen's customizable 200 is the same as Dodd's Top 250 Going Forward. Both features have been around for years, so we all know the difference. Dodds' was the one I checked every week. You need to bring that one back.

I definitely liked seeing guys compared to where they were last year. I hope that no administrator from the board is trying to pass of Dodds' top 250 forward list from previous seasons as being outdated or not as good as this current product.
Thanks Buster. That was our thinking. I realize having the Top 200 on Tuesday is a big deal.JBusterTBronco said:I am very pleased to see that the customizable top 200 was published on Tuesday. "The Big Picture"? Do explain ..It went to FBG Heaven with The Big Picture
The Big Picture was a feature Mike Herman did in year's past that we didn't do this year. It was a cool look at consolidating a bunch of information all on one page. I would hope we can get it back for next year.J"The Big Picture"? Do explain ..It went to FBG Heaven with The Big Picture

I'll throw in a vote to the new format, especially as I play in 2 leagues which have scoring systems that I'd consider less popular (one is basically TD-only, the other is TD-heavy). There's also a pretty unique defensive scoring that factors in. The standard scoring was interesting (especially the week-to-week ratings) but a good chunk was unrealistic for my league (Steven Jackson's value being a prime example). It's a pain for folks but an excel cut/paste is one way I can see keeping the rankings from week to week. Perhaps in the future per-game average can be added and then the previous week's projections kept on the back-end (with just the prior average on the front end) as a way to show week-to-week changes. The Tuesday release is also a big big plus. There are often trade-offs in these scenarios, but I know that time-line issues have been a concern for a while and I think it's great that FBG is addressing that concern. I was able to better assess a (laughable) trade offer that I received quickly before the waiver process was run.One request, if it's at all possible - can the "insignificant" people be toggled on/off? When I put my league's custom scoring in only 7 defenses popped up. The rest being deemed to have insignificant differences in trade value. Would still be nice to see how they are all assessed even if their value is seen as insignificant.Cheers-QGThanks Buster. That was our thinking. Although I don't feel exactly the same as -jb-, this post reminds me how I often feel early in the year when I transition from Draft Dominator to Lineup Dominator.I'm not sure how much of this "I don't trust LD" phenomenon is due to early season discrepancies, but I believe some level of discomfort comes from the fact that Dodds projects the current week and other(s) do the forward part. (I believe the forward part is handled mostly or exclusively by Bob Henry, and I believe he is credited in the Lineup Dominator.) I've always found it to be somewhat jarring to use Draft Dominator with 100% Dodds projections, then to use Lineup Dominator which at this point in the season, as far as season-long value, is less than 10% Dodds projections. It seems to be that this significant change may be some of the "numbers don't jive" feeling, too.I realize Projections Dominator gives the flexibility to not have 100% Dodds input in DD to begin with, and I further realize that Mr. Dodds can only do so much. However, it appears to me that using the 10% or so Dodds input Custom 250 (which I prefer technically, by the way) instead of the "old" Top 250 Forward that was 100% Dodds input represents a significant difference. I suppose what I am saying is that the Custom 250 is more of a Henry Top 250 Forward than a Dodds Top 250 Forward. And there is nothing inherently wrong or bad about that. However, I've always found it strange to have most of the preseason projections and rankings be led by Dodds, then have the Lineup Dominator for rest of season rankings be driven by Henry.Bottom line: I think using the Custom 250 is a superior idea. However, I believe more emphasis should be placed on the Forward projections. In particular, perhaps multiple FBG staff should collaborate on forward projections, either combining input on the entire set or in dividing the task among positions (which happens to some extent now). In any case, I've seen many cases in which outlier forward projections greatly distort player value. Typically, these outliers are addressed in the succeeding weeks and the player gets to their proper rank/level. However, the problem remains that people who attempt to use LD to proactively look for later season production (bye week/playoff week starters) for waiver wire moves or just blindly trust the rankings that are given by LD are not getting very accurate info, at least in my opinion. I've learned to ignore these situations, and after all we can each make our own judgments, but it's frustrating that such a great technical tool and concept is neutered to some extent by projections that seem arbitrary/dubious/rushed/incomplete (take your pick). The rankings just seem way off on this tool this year. The numbers don't jive with what's happening on the field. I realize that it's only week 2, so perhaps it will normalize, but some players seem to have moved up or down based on their play where others have not. Yet others had an inverted effect.
Mine works the same way and all TEs show up when I select WR (and vice versa). Check your scoring set up for that league.Just realized one problem with the customized rest of season rankings. For my league that has no dedicated TE (that is TEs are lumped in with the WR) it doesn't put any of them in the rankings at all - that's to say that Antonio Gates doesn't get ranked. Any way this might be fixable?-QG
