Footballguy
I'm in a bit of a QB quandry in my 12 man keeper league. The top QBs are gone, looking for thoughts and your rankings on the following:

Eli Manning

Jay Cutler

Rex Grossman

Ben Roethlisberger

Jake Delhomme

Jason Campbell

JP Losman

Alex Smith

Philip Rivers

Tony Romo

Matt Lienhart

I have my own opinions, but I'm looking for others. Thanks.

Jay Cutler stands heads and shoulders above the others situationally.Prime individual talentPrime supporting cast talentStable coaching staffProven offensive systemAll of the other guys are six of one, half dozen of the other.Put a gun to my head, I like Romo and Rivers next. Jason Campbell is a nice darkhorse for reasons I may share if asked.

I'm asking.

ALRIGHT yet another AC question :lmao:
Big Red, my post was about 11 QBs that many of us are wondering about. I was asking for opinions about what other FGs expect to see from these QBs this year. I'm sure many of us would be interested to hear these opinions as well, not just me. I was attempting to prompt a discussion about the 2nd/3rd tier QBs, not looking for someone to tell me what to do. I guess you'd rather I start 11 seperate topics, each with some generic starter comment like, 1. "Eli Manning will be top 10 this year". 2. "Jay Cutler on the verge of Greatness"3. "Rex Grossman to Suck in 2007" etcetcetcThat way I can trick people into telling me what they think these guys will do this year rather than simply asking for opinions. Every single "Rank these Players" thread is obviously about someone wondering who to draft, trade for, etc. Yet, a quick search shows that those posts are perfectly acceptable in the Shark Pool. Can someone explain to me why the many pages of "Rank these Players" posts are ok here, yet my post asking for opinions on 11 QBs doesn't belong in this forum?

If you can get Romo or Cutler out of this bunch in your re-draft or dynasty you'll get top 6/7 QB production

Losman has a brutal schedule and the running game is still questionable but I like his ability and I think he could pan out as a solid QB#2 with low QB1 potential. I really like Lee Evans btw because Losman has a radar lock on him, and he has a little Steve Smith in him.

Jason Campbell is going about around QB25 pretty consistently and I think he could seriously outplay that ranking. He is in the second year in Saunders system with a solid o-line a dependable ground game an all pro tight end and an above average #1 WR. If he is going to do anything at this level, now is the time.

Rex Grossman is getting drafted between QB 22-24, he did show excellent play in 6 games last season and now is as seasoned as any vet in the league. The offensive line is good and I think most people like Cedric Benson's potential, Desmond Clark is a very underrated tight end, Moose is still an excellent blocker if nothing else, Berrian has legitimate deep speed and Bradley...well let's not push it. Still I think Rex can outplay his ADP.

I get the feeling that Jeff Garcia is going to be moving up people's draft boards over the next two weeks. Right now at ADP 21-24 he looks undervalued to me. I may be off base but he looks like a prime candidate to a Rich Gannon clone. I like his running game and receivers but the offensive line is a big question mark with two second year players and Luke Petigout, who IIRC is looking like a good pickup. Garcia has the biggest upside of anyone on this list.

I just checked Antsports and Joey Harrington isn't even in the top 33. I think he is a safe bet to outplay QB33.

Last but not least I submit for your approval Daunte Culpepper. A short week ago I was in a thread touting Josh McKown having the inside track at the #1 QB spot with Oakland. As Gahndi would often say when caught in a contradiction "Today I know better." This is not to say DC is going to go off for an MVP season but the Raiders do have some weapons. Jordan is a serviceable RB and an excellent outlet receiver. Porter, Curry and possibly BMW do have some talent so it could be argued that they might get open every now and again. To be honest I still think the Raiders are a mess but Daunte is just the kind of QB to put passes up and see if his receivers can pull them down. He is also a threat for 2-3 goal line plunges.

Sort of overreacted there, didn't you?

Of these guys, I like Losman and Cutler and Leinart best; but I like Tavaris Jackson better than most of the rest and he looked very good in the first preseason game.

I'm not high on Tarvaris Jackson at all. As for Losman, I'm a Bills fan and see more of him than most. I expect big things from him. But I don't think this is the year he explodes. The Bills are facing 9 playoff teams and 2 teams who I thought were locks to make it (Cincinnati, Denver). The OL was upgraded but until Walker is moved to RG I don't think we'll see that much of an improvement.

And the Bills are still lacking a #2 option. Parrish is getting more involved in the passing attack and that may take some time. I absolutely hate Reed (Losman seems to love him but he always seems to screw up in crucial situations), Price isn't the same and Davis hasn't done much. Lynch is getting more involved in the passing attack so that should spread it out a bit more.

Still, I think it's another year until Losman puts up a big year.
