3 Round Reversal.. I'm hooked (1 Viewer)

I'm about done w/ my 1st ever 3RR league.. and it went very well. I wish all FF sites have this option, the teams are very even; until they started picking bad players ofcourse

I'm about to start one of these. What do you suggest is the best draft position to be in? I'm looking for ranges like first 3, last 3, middle 6, etc...Thanks!
BTW - I know there's an article out there. I'm just looking for best draft position THIS YEAR (not generic values associated with different slots)

How exactly does it work? Is the article in the members section? (I'm a member, just have not seen it - of course I wasn't looking for it either since we do not use it.)

This explanation was taken from the NFFC website, they use 3RR for all their leagues. What Is 3RR: 3RR Stands for 3rd Round Reversal, which allows the bottom of the draft order to begin Round 3 after also starting Round 2. It's one way to balance the talent in a 14-team league. All leagues will have the following draft order for NFFC draft leagues:Round 1: 1-14 Round 2: 14-1 Round 3: 14-1 Round 4: 1-14 Round 5: 14-1 Round 6: 1-14 Round 7: 14-1 Round 8: 1-14 Round 9: 14-1 Round 10: 1-14 Round 11: 14-1 Round 12: 1-14 Round 13: 14-1 Round 14: 1-14 Round 15: 14-1 Round 16: 1-14 Round 17: 14-1 Round 18: 1-14Why Is 3RR Used?: 14-team leagues are tough because of their size and 3RR balances out all draft spots by giving the later picks the start of the draft in rounds 2 and 3.

I'm a fan of the order where you just flip the 3rd round, so all odd rounds are 1-12 (except 3 is 12-1) and all even rounds are 12-1, that article actually points out that this is generally the best way to level the playing field.

My main league is a redraft with the reversal that I'm talking about, and I love it.

For THIS YEAR, I think the best spot to have is somewhere 9-12. You have so many options with how to take your draft from these spots. Two very solid RBs in rounds 1-2, or all the quality (maybe not Moss) WRs will be there in rounds 1 and/or 2, and you're still able to get a top WR or top 4 QB in round 3 if you want. Going early again in Round 4 is great, and allows you to take a chance on guys like McFadden, Thomas Jones, Holmes, or jump on Witten/Gates/Winslow.

We haven't done our lottery yet, but I'm really hoping I draw 9-12, and can open up with Portis, TO, Romo, McFadden/Jones.

I am a vet of 3RR. It's nothing new. Been around a long time! It does even up draft somewhat. Especially REDRAFT LEAGUES I prefer it. I don;t care for it in other types.

Unless I draw the 10-14 slots. haha

Some years it's better. Some years not. Last year for instance there was so much uncertainly with top picks and as it turned out it was true to what I thought it would be. SJAX hurt. LT barely made it. LJ hurt and unsigned until late. SA ran out of gas as I projected. AP hurt at times. Westy missed his annual game like he always does.

It kinda killed half the 2-6 picks last year if you used 3rr. So it's not always a great thing.

It is when the first half of first round picks are more certain. Even this year after AP and LT you can flip a coin! And they are no certain thing either after both having knee injuries last year so I am not sure this is a good year to be useing 3rr.

Where is the article? I remember reading it last year and implemented in our work league. It was a big success, but now someone wants to put it up to a vote. So before I do that, I want to read that article so that I can explain it's fairness better.

I would say in 3RR, the back positions get a nice Boost... Take my team, I was the #12 Team. I was able to get a Top WR and RB at the turn, then 12 picks later I was able to get another top Player; at the time it was CJ. It then suxd waiting 24 picks... but whatever, I had a very good base to work off of.If you Choose Mid Pick, then u won't feel any affects... you'll still be picking in the middle of every round.

If you have a high pick... this is where it hurts a little. U make you pick in round 1, round 2 comes around, you then need to wait until the end of the 3rd round to make your 3rd selection...

So i would say that anywhere from Mid to Late Picks are better in 3RR
