3RB start (1 Viewer)

Are my RB's ok for a start 3RB team with an additional flex spot in a 10 team league.  I'm fighting this question in my head where some days they're fine and others I feel I need one more RB3-4 type for filler.

I have:  David Johnson, Melvin Gordon, Tevin Coleman, Derrick Henry, Jeremy Hill and the useless ones in Darrius Jackson, Artis Payne and Bibbs

Most weeks my guess is I'd be flexing DT Moncrief or Thielen instead of any of those other RB's.

Now that you've read that I also have the 1.01 and I really want to take Corey Davis but I might be forced into Fournette with this situation.

I think your RB's are solid for a start 3 RB league however you can always use more talent at that spot.  Depth at RB is a huge advantage especially in leagues that require more starters at that position.  For me it would be an easy choice to select the RB I liked most with the 1.01 in your scenario but I am not sold on Davis either.

You are also missing the piece of what your WR's look like so it's tough to say that Davis wouldn't be a hug improvement there too.  But like I said I am not sold on Davis so I would settle in and take my highest ranked RB at the 1.01

If you think Davis is the best talent in the rookie class, take him. Never let immediate positional needs trump talent, especially not at RB, given that NFL backfields these days change on a weekly basis.

I assume you're in win-now mode? I personally think your top-5 RBs are fine in that case, but if you want some insurance you should easily be able to pry an aging vet RB loose from another owner in exchange for a back-end draft pick or a young dart-throw WR off the end of your bench. A guy like Gore, Powell, Terrence West should carry next to no dynasty value but should put up decent enough numbers in 2017 to let you plug that hole for now at least.

You could do with an upgrade at rb3, but not a huge one.  And your rb1-2 are strong.  Often nobody has really good rb depth...are there other teams in your league that you like the rb stables of better, op to bottom?

I would take the player you want most at 1.1.  Maybe try to work a deal for a mid-tier rb for one of your wr's.  DT seems like a good sell to me, and Moncreif seems to be overvalued right now.

In a start 3-RB league, I think it'd be tough to consider Davis as a top-4 rookie pick. RBs are so much more valuable. I think you are good at RB, but could be great with Fournette, getting him allows you to maybe use Coleman as a flex option, though Thomas and Moncrief are decent options as well. If Thomas/Moncrief/Thielen are your bench WRs, then RB depth is a bigger need than WR depth anyway.

It would be hard for me to pass up on a RB at 1.1 in a start 3 RB league.  I am not extremely high on Davis.  I would go Fournette, since Fournette would be an incredible RB3 for you.  You will be in an awesome position....have 3 RBs that will get 20+ touches a game.  And Fournette would help you right away....you don't know when Davis will cash in for you.

If you want Davis, then I would look to the owner in the 2 hole and try and trade down.....see how interested he his in Fournette.  You could get extra picks to move down one spot.  Your RB depth is pretty good, but in a start 3RB league, IMO you NEVER have enough RB depth.

This question is kind of pointless without your WRs rostered, which must be amazing if DT is a flex.  Your scoring system is an important piece of the puzzle too.
