Recovery operations concluded on Thursday and Navy and Coast Guard vessels have left the area and safety perimeters around the site have been lifted, the statement said.

https://thehill.com/policy/defense/...e-aware-of-suspected-chinese-balloons-report/A small number of intelligence officials under former President Trump were aware of several suspected Chinese balloons that crossed into U.S. airspace during his time in office, according to The Wall Street Journal. Despite suspicions among some officials that the high-flying objects were from China, a Pentagon assessment never conclusively linked the balloons to Beijing, and information on the incidents was not shared broadly within the Trump administration, the Journal noted.
Several former Trump officials have said they were unaware of the balloons’ incursions on U.S. airspace and expressed frustration about the lack of notification.
The Biden administration briefed former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe and former national security adviser Robert O’Brien on Wednesday about China’s high-altitude surveillance program and the previous incidents, according to NBC News. Former national security adviser John Bolton was also briefed separately.
Meh. You can only get so much practice flying over NFL games. So in the case of the Lake Huron UFO it took two $400,000+ missiles to shoot down a $100 hobby balloon?
Our tax dollars at work.
1I am curious how nervous people are after this incident.
1-10 scale: 1 being like "balloon...what balloon?"...10 being you ordered an extra Ham radio set off the dark web.
I'll go with 2.

They probably got the "refer a friend" discount, which is why Russia is working on a coal-powered balloon.I wonder if they had to bundle phone and the HBO super package with it.
The danger is back.Kind of crazy how this all dried up and blew away.
Amazon delivery of a pair of work boots? The official said the balloon appeared to be made of Mylar and had a small cube-shaped box, about two feet long on each side, hanging below it. Its origins and purpose remain unknown.

What level does he need to be consulting with? It makes total sense; you fly a spy plane above it and monitor all its transmissions, let it fly through your territory because you know where it is going to be and move or cover anything it might find of interest, and then shoot it down and collect all the electronics right before it leaves your territory. Judge for yourself.at what level? He does work with agencies.I don't know who that guy is, but unless he's working directly with our agencies, it's all speculation and wish-casting IMO.
