Sure, understood. Sorry.timschochet said:OK this is not supposed to happen. It's OK for round 1, but after that if it happens again you guys need to cancel the game and rechallenge. That will switch sides.

Consistently avoiding those types of simple mistakes and taking advantage of the same is the difference between being a ~1000 level player and a ~1400 level player. Number 13 is more understandable since you saw a tactic for yourself, but didn't see the potential for my tactic at the end of your calculation. With some experience and drills, the basic "bishop on d3 unleashing a discovered attack on the d-file" becomes an automatic red flag that makes you look more accurately at the position. My 5th and 13th moves were total blunders.
Let me guess - I play this guy next.Consistently avoiding those types of simple mistakes and taking advantage of the same is the difference between being a ~1000 level player and a ~1400 level player. Surprise, surprise. I was on the run the whole game.1-0 andyjayhawker - Nick Vermeil
Stalemate, n00bWe had a draw. I had his king cornered with my King and Queen. He had no legal moves left but was not in check. the app stopped and awarded a draw. Never seen that. Thought I was gonna win. :X
Can you send us this game? It might be instructive. Thanks. We had a draw. I had his king cornered with my King and Queen. He had no legal moves left but was not in check. the app stopped and awarded a draw. Never seen that. Thought I was gonna win. :X
We've been making slow progress but are near endgame. @Psychopav When will you have a few hours stretch open when we can finish this up?Psychopav vs. Juxtat in progress

Under "actions" go to view game, email it to yourself, copy it, and paste it here.
Was able to get my moves and the pgn file which I'm guessing is the game file. Not sure how to copy it and paste it here. In any event, time to move on to next match.timschochet said:Under "actions" go to view game, email it to yourself, copy it, and paste it here.
We're nearing the end. Otello just whammied me, and is almost certainly going to win.timschochet said:Psychopav vs. Juxtat in progress

How are these two games going? Thx.
It was a good game. Bummer about the blunder.Kutta defeats AAA - there's no point in posting the game - I made a stupid blunder and I doubt anybody here is beating kutta giving up a free minor piece.
It's just text right? Copy and paste? Was able to get my moves and the pgn file which I'm guessing is the game file. Not sure how to copy it and paste it here. In any event, time to move on to next match.
OK, so you just need to work on mating with a king and queen against a king. You correctly forced him into a corner, but 55. Kf2 creates a stalemate. Correct is 55. Qg4 kh1 (forced) 56. kf2 Kh2 (forced) 57. Qg2 #Here ya go
50. b8=Q Kf2
51. Qf4+ Kg2
52. Kd3 Kh3
53. Ke3 Kg2
54. Qf3+ Kh2
55. Kf2# 1/2-1/2
Looks like you have the Andy vs. Nick result flipped.Round Two (Left side- White)

Juxtat (1) vs. Aerial Assault (1)
trogg78 (1) vs. timschochet (1)

Cool thx. I have played alot with friends. Never online. We don't do stalemates. Someone must lose. I know competitive real chess isn't like that thoughOK, so you just need to work on mating with a king and queen against a king. You correctly forced him into a corner, but 55. You might try playing blitz chess because in those games this type of position comes up a lot and you need to know how to mate with queen and king often in just a few seconds in order to avoid running out of time. You get the hang of it pretty quickly.
Damn you're right. I corrected on the OP. It doesn't change the matchups for round 2 as they're both playing the two that drew.Looks like you have the Andy vs. Nick result flipped.
