60 minutes Tony Bosch Interview (1 Viewer)

Jefferson the Caregiver

Rebel Without A Pause
Wow, that was pretty compelling TV.

Arod, Bosch and MLB all come off pretty bad here.

We know Bosch is shady but he seemed pretty convincing in this interview. Getting his life threatened by an ARod associate? Wow, if true, Arod is even more of a scumbag than I thought and my opinion of him was already at an all time low.

Even more fascinating was MLB essentially corroborating that story. Wow. This is pretty unheard of, since it is a whole lot of hearsay, these are big accusations to be throwing ARod's way.

Again, I believe all of it. Manfred has a lot to lose throwing out those kind of accusations, he doesn't look good either and neither does MLB but if he's got the balls to say it on 60 Minutes, it's probably true.

Other takeaways, MLB essentially paying off a witness, paying for evidence, etc, this whole thing is pretty insane.

If Arod had played it cooler, he wouldn't have been suspended for 2014 but he's a bad guy. Much worse than Pete Rose, who just bet on his own team. Will Arod see the HOF? He shouldn't.

ARod is never making the HoF. The biggest takeaway from the whole segment was how easy it is for players to pass a drug test. Alex could pop a gummy in the dugout before the first pitch and pee clean after the game (provided he filled the cup up midstream).

Not sure how you can believe anything Bosch said, and what a great memory. Hope it holds up in court!

MLB better have other evidence than just Bosch since, it was very clear that they bought Bosch and he will say anything that MLB wants to hear.

not saying ARod is innocent, but MLB is trying to railroad him.

I'm waiting for Jose Cansecos reaction. Should be good.

ARod got pummeled in the interview, deservingly. But MLB, and Bud Selig especially, came off as smug, arrogant and acting as if they had no idea about this when they were profiting because of it. It made me sympathize with ARod.

Remember back when people were saying they couldn't wait for ARod to break the HR record and take it back from the cheating black man Barry Bonds? Good times.

Bosch is shady, but I believe his story. Thousands of texts from A-Rod. The other players who were snagged in the net when this story broke all took their medicine. A-Rod should try to salvage what little he has left and take the year suspension. Plus the way his body has been banged up and all of his injuries a year of to rehab may help him.

I believe him... ARod def taking banned substances - Every other player involved in this scandal has taken their punishment and gone away. Am I to believe that he is the only one not guilty? Guy doing more damage trying to deny the obvious then just accepting and getting back to life.

he could use some HGH to help himself recover better during the year off

More than just memory, I suppose those texts were make believe too? Pretty much confirmed that they came from ARod's blackberry.

MLB doesn't look great but I am sure they vetted all of this before they took this kind of stand. Sorry, just don't believe MLB is that corrupt too. Of course, I don't believe 9/11 was an Inside job either.

What Pete Rose did was still in the confines of baseball. There is a much worse criminal element involved if ARod is really hiring goons to make death threats.

Getting into Aaron Hernandez territory now.
Bud Selig is still alive! ;)

What I was really getting at is that Pete Rose's real crime isn't even mentioned that often - writing his pathetic performing name in the line up for the personal pursuit of the hit and then the RBI record while managing potentially competitive teams is the real crime. (Reds fans will disagree of course.)

ETA: On further thought maybe I should hold Rodriguez responsible for not offing Selig.

Athletes are notoriously superstitious. Not defending him, but I could certainly understand a clean player doing odd things like that based on someone else's recommendation.

I just do not get this Arod sympathy, have heard this a few times.

I don't feel bad for ARod, but compared to MLB and Bud Selig he is a saint. That's where the focus should be, not on some BS by Bosch and by baseball.

Bud is a doofus but how is he worse here than ARod?

Baseball profited immensely, turning a blind eye, while all these players used steroids and other PEDs. And when the #### hits the fan they act all indignant. This was a culture promoted and encouraged by MLB.

MLB made a mistake letting it go on as long as it had, i think everyone realizes that.

But when the #### did hit the fan and players are perjuring themselves in front of Congress, what else can MLB/Selig do but start to crack down.

To be fair, they went pretty easy at first, went after some low level fruit, gave the stars a chance to get clean. When players continued to cheat, they had to get tougher and start making examples.

You may not like Selig, he's hard to like but I believe Arod brought a lot of this on himself. If he made it difficult for MLB to do an investigation, meanwhile acting self rightous every time he could make a public statement, lying on 60 minutes, etc, I am sure Selig did have enough of the BS and perhaps made a point to nail him. If Alex had acted like Andy Pettitte or if that wasn't humanly possible for him even taking it like Manny Ramirez, there would be no 162 game suspension, but he had to continue to be the pain in the rear that he is. At the end of the day, he brought this all on himself.

The BALCO thing really blew this up and forced the issue and I totally agree that MLB and the players union were pushed into acting as if they care not because they do but because they were getting killed on the PR front.

But, they have had testing now for 10 years. If baseball had the same testing program as NFL they would have no problems because nobody would ever get caught. Guys get caught, which is still pretty hard to do, they then take their lumps except Arod who must think people are incredibly stupid.

Totally agree. Bud always seems to look like he slept on a bench last night and has zero charisma - bad combo for public speaker.

someone gets it.

Isn't it just as likely that MLB threatened Bosch to get his cooperation and offer him protection he didn't need as an ARod associate made a credible threat to Bosch's life.

He's driven a lot of people away from Baseball IMO. A new Commish would be a positive step for MLB.

i would like to see a scientist analyze this stuff and tell us if you could really take it in a game and pee clean right after it that question is pretty big in this old boy mind because hey i will listen to joe the scientist and these other liars and cheats and lowlifes can hang me and joe science will get this sorted out take that to the bank brohans

So it turns out ARod did not try to bribe Bosch, and even though MLB and 60 minutes knew this, they decided to air it as fact anyway.

Also, there's speculation that ARods lawyer denied the bribe accusations with evidence that was not aired.

ARod is getting more of my sympathy from this.
