9 Reasons why Jim McMahon is awesome (1 Viewer)

Didn't give a flip about reading the article but the coolest thing I ever saw McMahon do was back in 84 or 85 at the away game in Minneapolis. Everybody and their brother bought a Vikings Headband as you entered the stadium. The next morning the scam was announced that McMahons company had produced, marketed, and sold them. He sold over 15,000 of them at the game.

The article was kinda week.

Some other cool things were he used to head-butt the offensive linemen when the Bears would score a TD.

One Thursday night game in Minny in 85, he was on the sideline "injured". Finally Ditka let him go in he game and threw 3 TDs and won the game for them.

Also in '85 he handed off to Payton sweeping right...Payton pulled up and threw a TD pass to...McMahon in the endzone. You love a guy that'll call his own number in the huddle.

#9 wasn't a great passer, but he was a great QB.

I agree that this should have been in the article. The reason he didn't start the game was because he hadn't practiced all week and Ditka was a strict "no practice, no play" guy.

McMahon threw TD passes in his first two snaps after entering the game. The third TD came on his seventh pass within seven minutes after entering the game.

Later on in the season someone asked Singletary about destiny, and he said it was that game in Minnesota that told him it was the Bears' year to win it all.
