A. Bethea (1 Viewer)

Really? No response? I figured Bethea owners would be all over this board #####ing. He had 1 PD all game. Last two games he had 15 solo tackles combined.

:blackdot: I'm interested to know what happened, too...
I've seen 1 post game injury list with no mention though that doesn't mean much. I have him too so any news would be appreciated,I'm not sure if I'd prefer a minor injury given his upcoming bye week. Even with all the idp maddness so far its hard to picture a guy who averaged 9 total tackles a week laying a goose egg.

Jags only threw the ball, like, three times. That's what happened.

Haven't checked logs, but I'm guessing it's probably going to be an "opportunity" thing. Don't see anything anywhere about him being hurt. It happens sometimes.

He was the nfl's 9th leading tackler last year (1-8 were all linebackers) and I'm sure he faced plenty of run heavy offenses last throughout. I was a little concerned about the new coaching staff or having a better offense this year but games 1+2 seemed to belay that concern. I've seen plenty of studs stinking it up but a zero looks pretty odd.

Bethea was in on all 60 snaps. Looking at the log on PFF, he had one missed tackle. Out of the 40 tackles recorded, 5 were recorded by DBs (Davis 2, Zbikowski 2, Powers 1). There was also only 2 assists recorded. Jacksonville rushed 32 times total and had 23 drop backs with 21 attempts/10 completions. Hope that sheds some light on the situation.

So what you are saying is avoid playing DBs against Jacksonville.

Thanks for the info, just have to write it off to one of those things, probably not the strangest stat line I've seen this year.

I went back and checked previous weeks where defenses played Jacksonville. (Tackles/Assists)Week 1 - Minnesota - Winfield 5/1, Smith 4/0, JRobinson 4/0, Cook 3/0, Raymond 2/0. Total 53/5.Week 2 - Houston - Joseph 3/0, Manning 2/0, Demps (backup SS to Manning) 2/1. Total 20/4.Having stated that, it looks like a mixed conclusion unless you go with the notion that if your IDP is on atop defense that can shut Jacksonville down like Houston did, don't start your DBs.

I was shocked to see him let Cecil Shorts III burn him for the game winner. Just a bad day at the office I guess.
