A celebration of moderate centrism. (1 Viewer)

So we centrists need to be wary of Kamala at this moment IMO. We don’t need to reject her, but we do need to be careful.

As I noted in the debate thread, shes playing an Obama like game of threading the needle between progressivism and moderate liberalism - basically the game is to offer general support for progressive ideas and then retreat to the center whenever specifics are called for. That’s OK, it’s how you win elections. Run to the left for the nomination, run back to the center for the general. But we don’t know who the real Kamala is, hence the need for caution.

On the plus side, she’s likable and smart. If it’s her vs Trump, that’s an easy no brainer for any liberal centrist, while conservative centrists might still want to give her a shot in that instance, or simply abstain from voting. Also, even if she really is too progressive, the current state of politics in Washington will prevent her from implementing anything too radical. So at most she will effectively govern as a moderate no matter what.

On the minus side, she’s a little calculating. That whole “that little girl was me” thing was just a little too smooth.
The problem with Harris as a so-called centrist is she would likely get less stuff done on a bi-partisan basis than even Obama. Just try and steamroll the GOP.

"Joined bipartisan bills the least often compared to Senate Democrats"

"Ranked most liberal compared to Senate Freshmen"

Seriously.  I think he lives in the LA area so maybe he is moderate for there.
Oh, I wasn't even going there. That should speak for itself.

I was laughing not at the pronoun, but the fact that he's writing for the "centrists" in the PSF. Who, pray tell, are they?
