I think the deck is stacked against Rodgers....It is a lot of pressure for a guy with zero pro starts to be given the starting Job over SB wining QB future HOF'er....I don't see this ending well for Rodgers or the Pack...they better hope Favre fails where ever he ends up.
Just what we needed. Another Rodgers..... instantly turned to Favre thread.
They drafted Bronham for this reason. I expect to see Brohnam starting at least last few weeks. If not mid season when the Pack falls 5 games behind Minny! Rodgers just doesn;t look like a NFL QB. Only question I have will Brohnam get job on merit or Injury. My guess a little of both!
Rodgers was as good as anyone you had ever seen? Really? I'm pretty sure one of, if not the biggest reason, he slipped in the draft was concerns that he is simply a system QB. The product of Jeff Tedfords system which has produced a fantastic string of college QB's who all turned out to be miserable NFL QB's and who almost all were more physically gifted than Rodgers. That does not mean Rodgers is doomed to be terrible as well but it does mean I take what he did in college with a grain of salt.I don't think you can read into this that the Pack are taking a stand because they have faith in his ability. Doing so discounts the fact ego's are involved. Mcarthy wants to make this his team, not Farves team. Thompson wants to see his first round investment pay off. That's the reason they pushed Favre out IMO.Rodgers was a dominant force in college when he was able to find his rhythm. He wasn't always consistent, but when he was in the zone he was as good as anyone I've seen. The Packers are not stupid. The fact that they're willing to take a stand for Rodgers tells me they have some faith in his ability to run their team. That's more meaningful to me than speculation from pundits who have never seen Rodgers play more than once or twice.
He's not doing this alone. He is surrounded by a good team with receivers that fit his short passing style. He also has a good defense and plays in a weak division.I think the deck is stacked against Rodgers....It is a lot of pressure for a guy with zero pro starts to be given the starting Job over SB wining QB future HOF'er....I don't see this ending well for Rodgers or the Pack...they better hope Favre fails where ever he ends up.

The Bears lost only one regular season game that year, a closely contested and well-played game at #1 Southern California that the Bears lost 23-17. In that game, Rodgers set a school record for consecutive completed passes with 26 and tied a NCAA record with 23 consecutive passes completed in one game.
When he got hot, he was unstoppable. So yes, when he was in the zone he was as good as anyone I've seen. For his performance in the 2003 Insight Bowl, California quarterback Aaron Rodgers was named the game's offensive player of the game.[54] Rodgers completed 27 of his 35 passes for 394 yards and two touchdowns in the winning effort.[64] Rodgers' performance tied Cal's bowl records for most completions, most touchdowns, and most rushing touchdowns, and was the third-highest offensive output by a single player in California history.[65]
That's like saying when he was completing passes he was as good as anyone I've ever seen. Unless he is going to be incapsulated in this zone you speak of I don't see the relevance of the comment. When he got hot, he was unstoppable. So yes, when he was in the zone he was as good as anyone I've seen.
Rodgers showed the potential to take over games. He has the ability to get in a rhythm and move the ball effortlessly. In that regard he reminds me of Tom Brady. Whether or not it will translate to the NFL remains to be seen, but when he was at his best he was dominant. I don't think that's irrelevant. I've seen a lot of college QBs play and few of them were able to generate that aura of invincibility, even in their best moments. That's like saying when he was completing passes he was as good as anyone I've ever seen.
