A look ahead to 2008 (1 Viewer)

I have not looked yet to see which divisions will play one another between the NFC-AFC, but there are a few teams who may be in good position based on a sour year in '07 as well as a few teams who could be in over their heads for '08 based on their record this year. Just glimpsing at the standings: I could easily see CHI, STL, CIN, DEN and the NYJ as having a nice schedule to play based on what I consider to be underperforming years in '07. Conversely, I could also see teams like TB, TEN and CLE as having performed at a level that could be a burden when the '08 schedule comes out. We obviously have the '08 draft and free agency which can transform a team quite a bit from what we see now, but I think some of these teams and others I have not mentioned could have some tempting players for FF drafts in '08 that may have more value than normal based on their teams' poor performance in '07.

Which teams do you think either overperformed or underperformed in 2007?

The difference between a first place finish and second place finish (or third or fourth for that matter) is only 2 games.

This season the Chargers first place schedule was the same as the Raiders last place schedule except the Chargers played Baltimore and New England while the Raiders played Cleveland and Miami.

True, but the difference between 10-6 and 8-8 is enormous.

Titans will get a 3rd place schedule right? Why would their schedule be any more difficult than this year's schedule?

Third place only dictates 2 games each year.I look at Cleveland and the rest of the AFC North to have problems next year. Why?2007 Non-divisional games: AFC East / NFC West2008 non-divisional matchups: AFC South / NFC EastFor instance the Browns had to go to NE, NYJ, AZ, STL in '07. In '08 they go to JAX, TEN, PHL, WAS.

Agreed but which team do you think is superior in 2007, Baltimore or Cleveland? While the Chargers had to play NE they also got to play Balt, a worse team in 2007 than Cleveland, a team the Raiders had to play.

:nerd: The AFC North's schedule is going to tough next season.
