Last Wed. I traded Deshaun Foster and Ronald Curry for Larry Johnson. no one said anything.

After this weeks games - Foster and Curry did nothing and Johnson looked like his old self (minus the TDs).

NOW there's a revolt against the trade! 'worst trade i've ever seen' one owner said...

their suggesting that i should HAVE to give draft picks to this guy next year because I ripped him off...

the direction the anger is heading - i'm guessing they're wanting it reversed as well (the commish has NEVER vetoed a trade in our 7 year history - but there's never been this much anger before)...

the commish has stayed out of this discussion, and the owner i traded with has stayed out of it as well... i actually found myself defending his side and justifying the trade from his perspective...

i'm starting to feel like they could LEGITLY convince the commish to penalize me in some way... if this happens - i'm considering stiffing the league and not paying the entry fee (if i don't win the fantasy bowl).

would i be in the wrong if i did that?

No way. Reversing trades should only occur in the rarest of circumstances (i.e. when one owner is paying another to make the trade).

Honestly, that trade is really brutal. I think 99% of trades should be approved but that is one of the worst I have seen. Giving that guy a pick in next year's draft seems reasonable in this case.

what do your rules say ? they are GOD - if the trade was accepted by both sides, approved, allowed to stand without anyone saying anything for a week, no collusion proven, they can't say a damn thing

if they do, quit after the season, they're a bunch of whiners and spend your money on a league with good owners

you got a great deal - but had LJ broken his hip YOU would have gotten the bad end - hind sight it always 50-50, just hope you make good deals and go forward

I imagine a lot of people traded FOR Caddy last week, does that mean now after the weekends injury the trades should be reconsidered ?

fools

why should i be penalized because of it? i offered the trade and did one hell of a convincing job. he accepted... where in there did i do wrong?

Um, no.
What if LJ had hurt his knee and was out for the season like Caddy? Would they still complain? Would you be allowed to get compensation due to the fact that he went down? You either protest the trade when it happens or not at all. Waiting to form your opinions after they play is just weak. The trade is what it is. There's no back compensation if the trade is lopsided.

Quite possibly the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of in terms of fantasy football. Allowing a trade to go through, watching the games for the week, then going back and vetoing a trade? Seriously, is this a short bus league?

Serious question: If LJ doesn't bust the long run and finishes with day with only 85 yds and 0 TDs (or even worse), do they still bother to bring this up? What if Foster scored 3 TDs? Would you be able to veto the trade since HE got the better end after 1 week? Also, why am I even bothering to respond to this nonsense. Not a chance I had any further involvement with that league if the trade is overturned.

We orginally had a weird rule that trades were done and then owners had a week to vote on them... if more people voted for it than aginst it - then it went through, if it was the other way - it got vetoed. No trades were vetoed the first 2 years (because people feared they'd get their trade vetoed then), and it was decided that the commish would have full control over vetoes and he agreed he'd only veto a trade if it made the league lopsided (he gave an example at the time of someone trading all their best players for someone elses worse players). But there's no rules beyond that... which might end up being a problem in this circumstance...

I completely agree about the time line. Protesting a trade a week late is BS. I can also understand your point of view and frustration. However sometimes "giving in" is the right move to make. If giving up a future draft pick will shut everybody up, then do it. People are irrational when it comes to Fantasy Football and you have to be smart about drawing your line in the sand. Give up a pick, shut them up, ride LJ to the Championship and re-evaluate your decision to play in the league in the off-season.
