2024 Trade Deadline (1 Viewer)

Another WTF decision by Jerry Jones. Mingo won't get any reps with Dak for at least 4 weeks. I don't see much drop off between Tolbert - Mingo. Then you give up a 4th rounder and you aren't likely to pay Parsons after his contract expires. So now you lose draft capital that could bring in a LB for cheap for 4 years. Or you can use that to draft RB depth.

thats an awful deal - when Carolina wins trades with you - it may be time for Jerry to take a seat.

I think Jerry Jones needs to turn his keys over.

That article someone posted was so on the money. Jerry will go to his grave trying to prove that his decisions were correct rather than trying to win. And by god his 4 playoff wins in 25 years show he's headed got the ship headed in the right direction. I too as a WAS fan fell for their fans. Bad owners come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Snyders was lack of money, interfering with the team, and being an *** to his constituents. Jerry treat his fans to a great game day experience, except on the field where being owner, GM, and coach has made the team a mockery.

Anyone hearing anything about Miles Sanders? I was hoping he would go to the Cowboys but the wrong Panther went there.

Marshon Lattimore traded to the Commies for a "premium pick"

Reportedly a 3rd +

The Commanders will send the Saints a third-, fourth-, and sixth-round pick in exchange for Lattimore and a fifth-round pick.

edited to add: All those picks are from next year's draft. Commanders had an extra 3rd round pick, so after the trade they still have a 3rd rounder.

The Saints shipped cornerback Marshon Lattimore and a 2025 fifth-round draft pick to the Washington Commanders ahead of Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET deadline in exchange for third-, fourth- and sixth-round picks in next year's draft, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported, per sources informed of the situation.

What's his contract status?

He's under contract for the next 2 seasons. Don't know the salary.

edit to add:
Lattimore is also due a hefty $36.5 in the final two years of his contract after this season, though Washington is in a solid spot to absorb the hit.

Glad to see the Commanders strike while the iron is hot. You just never know in this league when it's all gonna come together but at least they are trying.

That team is legit.

They picked up a vote in the Week 9 poll (aka BL’s validation threat)

QB is making plays and just does not turn it over, they’re def legit

Adam Thelin is a Steeler now I saw?

Edit: might have been clickbait or a false article….

BMW to PIT for 5th rd pick

NYJ stole PIT's 5th.

1. BMW is on the wrong side of 30.
2. PIT is on the hook for the entire contract.
3. free agent at the end of the year.
4. he's a bum.

PIT should have overpaid for Aiyuk, instead of being cheap.
Hopkins went to KCC for a 5th, way more value than PIT got for their 5th.

I cannot even locate a Packers team thread. Steelers obtained GB LB Preston Smith for a 7th. Just curious why a contender would get rid of a decent depth piece for nothing…

IIRC it was reported that PIT and SFF came to an agreement on the Aiyuk trade but it was contingent upon SFF not being able to come to terms on a contract with him. It was always their desire to keep him.

This could just me overly optimistic since I have Williams in one league but I think he'll be fine. Wilson has been looking good and maybe Williams was under utiized in NY.

Can't be worse than what PIT has behind Pickens. I also think that the NYJ WR pecking order is solely determined by Rodgers at this point. He's got all the power on that team. So if he didn't immediately jive with A-Aron then he was in the dog house.

Barely played versus Detroit, they want to get younger. According to Packers beat writers it's a salary dump. They were moving on after this season, so getting anything was better than nothing.

Packers' cap savings for trading Preston Smith:
  • 2024 $2.02 million
  • 2025 $7.62 million
  • 2026 $18.21 million
  • 2027 $1.67 million
He's been publicly lobbying for more playing time so maybe just wanted to be rid of the squeaky wheel, IDK.

That said, I think that the Jets got the better end of the deal unless Williams really does pretty well. Just a 5th for a 30 year old that had done nothing this year seems a lot.
