Aaron Hernandez? (1 Viewer)

I noticed that he was not listed in the TE rankings. Does anyone have anything on his status for week 5? Paging David Yudkin.

Won't know anything (if we learn anything at all, that is) until Wed practices. My GUESS is that he'll practice Thurs on a limited basis, be questionable all week, then a GTD. I own him (& Brady), & wouldn't start him anyway this week (total guess is that Revis would cover him). His presence obviously helps the whole offense

Read a couple tweets earlier this evening from a couple people close to the Pats. One said they thought he would play. The other said there was a chance. Sorry, I'm too lazy to go find the links now.I guess I would be surprised if he didn't play this week since he sounded like he really wanted to get on the field last week and was thinking he actually might. But who knows...

Jeff Howe, a Pats beat writer said he thinks Hernandez plays this week but...we won't know for sure of course until later in the week.

The pats would cruise to an easy win if Revis was matched up with Hernandez. They'd most likely pair their nickel on him.

I am in a tough spot with him this week. I drafted Witten and then Hernandez, fixed roster league meaning I can only carry 2, no more, no less. I hate to cut Hernandez, in fact I would almost rather just go without for a week.

That my Team!! I'm starting Hernandez whether he plays or not this week. I'm not dropping good player for a couple points improvement for 1 week!

If I were to guess how this plays out, Hernandez won't practice tomorrow but will be limited the rest of the week. He will probably end up being questionable on Friday's injury report and will be cited as being a game time decision.

However, in reality I think he will either play close to normal or be out entirely and the Pats will do this to keep the Jets guessing and having to work on game plans with and without Hernandez.

We will all then have to guess which way this will go. I think he will play, but there is nothing to back that up at this point.

Was this a minor injury that they decided to be careful with, or was the severity of the injury legitimately 2-3 weeks? Curious if they're rushing him back or not.

He stayed in the game for awhile after it happened and then later jogged to the locker room... he came back out and didn't play and then there were reports that he was "limping badly" around the locker room afterward. Then there were 2 different media outlets reporting two different time tables (1-2 vs 5-6) with, of course, no official word from the Pats themselves.

Thanks for the update.
Too bad the very next post after mine echoes the same scenario. I like popcorn too, can I have some of yours? Thanks

I'm in the same boat. Not to mention he's an afternoon game, I believe. I wish posters who are only taking the time to be smart###es would just remain silent. More snipping than conversation this year in the sp.

I am in a slightly different, but similar situation with Gates, Hernandez, and Fred Davis as my top 3 TEs. With Davis on bye and Gates likely out for another couple of weeks, gonna have to try and roll with Hernandez this week and hope for the best. Not anything on the waiver wire that is better than those 3, so not really any way to add someone. :(

I might as well have started Hernandez the last two weeks! Played breakout candidate Pitta in Week 3 and Casey in Week 4...ZERO...really? Ugh.

Ha. Was just looking over Reiss' latest tweets and he has Belichick's input on Hernandez. In typical fashion, Belichick gives no indication one way or the other. I'd expect nothing more/less.

I wish people would stick to the point of the thread. But since you are defending something that I think shouldn't be here. I got Jared Cook and Hernandez, I could pick up others but really want Hernandez to come back. I hope he does so I don't have to start Cook every week. :banned:

Agree... Those geniuses are quick to make snide comments but seldom offer anything of value themselves. So, no one thinks it likely Revis would cover Hernandez if he played? What about when/if he split out wide? I doubt I'd start him even if he's active, just curious about what others think about the matchup

I agree, my snide comment was made to poster that offered no value in their post. I made a snide ironic post. You can pick and choose who you complain about, or be consistent.Interesting that Hernandez is back at practice today. Looking forward to the reports.

:goodposting: I don't own Hernandez but own Gronkowski and am hoping Hernandez plays to draw some of the coverage away from Gronk. :hophead:

It may have been the plan all along for him to come back this week. Or it could be BB mind freaking Rexy. We won't know for sure until just before and maybe not even then.

As an owner with Olsen as a fill in I'm just happy that he's back in pads. If he can't go this week because the knee just isn't strong enough then I would assume he would be good to go next week barring any significant set backs. Glad that the time table we initially had is holding true and may even be cut short..

I don't think it is in the Pat's interest to announce Hernandez' ultimate status this week until the last possible moment. I'm pretty sure BB does not care about anyone's fantasy team.

"(RotoWire) Hernandez (knee) was limited in practice Thursday, Boston Herald writer Ian Rapoport reports."

Good news here for Hernandez owners, still no word if he will play but at least he is practicing

Skips practice early in the week . . . CHECK.Comes back to practice and is listed as Limited . . . CHECK.Tomorrow he will be listed as Questionable . . . might as well be a CHECK.This script writes itself . . .

Predicting a limited practice tomorrow.

Hernandez gets announced as the starter around 3:00pm Sunday.

He plays the first series, gets no targets and cheerleads from the bench the rest of the way.

Gronk spends the rest of the game blocking for numerous Ridley & Law Firm running plays.

Some guy who waited until the last second to set their lineup loses a matchup they were projected to win by a narrow margin.

Curses Belichick's name.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
