Aaron Kampman owners joing me in being pissed off (1 Viewer)

After reading this article I'm pretty annoyed being a Kampman owner. The article below is a good read in it's entirety and will sure enough irritate all Kampman owners, pretty much nothing is changing this year in their defense and we are going to get screwed having him moved officially to LB. The only think I can hope is that MFL doesn't change him from DE to LB but I don't see this happening.

Small piece:

Mike McCarthy points out how little time the average NFL team spends in its base defense. Ted Thompson insists little will change in the way he evaluates college prospects. Thompson suggests that Aaron Kampman will be on the line of scrimmage with his hand on the ground -- in other words, a defensive end -- on more than half of his snaps.

This could turn into a Justin Smith type scenario where you can prove that Kampman can be considered a DL during the preseason.

But this isn't anything new. We've argued quite often that teams use subpackages around 40-50% of the time and much more often depending on how the game unfolds. The standard for most stat services (and the NFL in most cases) has been the base defensive depth chart. Until that changes -- either globally or in specific leagues -- this will continue to be an issue each offseason.
