Aaron Rodgers Bandwagon (1 Viewer)

Of course, there is a parallel to the RB situation going into last year, and they had to go trade for Grant.

I say it again, Thompson loves his draft picks too much and just plain doesn't appreciate the risks that entails.

Well, he should trade Farve and get some more of his beloved picks.

He should but is too greedy. "King's ransom" is right.

There is no way he is worth more than a 2nd round pick right now.

But I did read Favre has refused to talk to interested teams, intending to force a release.

I agree, a 1st is too much. I'd say a 2nd is a hefty enough price. He may actually be only worth a 3rd but GB isn't getting rid of him for a 3rd. Heck, it's worth something if your another team just to bring Brett Farve on your team. You don't think Minnesota or Tampa Bay sells more tickets or fans become more interested if all of a sudden Brett Farve is their starting QB.That's worth something.

You've had a little more time to evaluate him. You're not going to get as good of a seat on the train now, but the good news is it's not standing room only and there's a few more seats.

Last night, Aaron Rodgers went 18/22, threw a TD, and ran in a TD while looked sharp. You won't see him much anymore if at all before the season starts, so either you're on board or off.

Only two members of the entire FBG staff (Borbely and C. Gray) have Aaron Rodgers ranked in the top 12, which to me is the cutoff line for QB1's, leaving most of the staff looking for another train to jump on and not aboard with Rodgers.

Choo Choo, not a lot of time left to jump on board as this train leaves promptly gametime in week 1............All Aboard!

18 for 22 in the previous preseason game and 1 for 1 with a 68 yard TD in his latest to their top big play WR showing that he has the rapport with Jennings that most were concerned about.

Tough crowd to please..........

I picked him up last year. I was thinking that Farve would retire after the season. I tried to trade him to the owner with Gates and Witten but was declined. I think Rodgers is going to have a great season this year. However, at this moment his value is low.

My league is about half Packer homers so there was no way to get Rodgers at value. I think he went in the 5th or so in a 12 team league. I don't put a ton of stock in the 100+ preseason passer rating in terms of predicting success when the games count, but there are a few intangibles we can evaluate that should give Rodgers owners and Packer fans some comfort. First, there is no question the team (management, coaches, players) has huge confidence in this guy. It is clear that he is developing as a leader. Through all the Favre stuff, Rodgers kept his head high, said the right things and his teamates supported him throughout. He has shown good poise, pocket-sense, footwork, command of the offense and a strong arm. Certainly he could have a bad year (or two), but I think we can say with some confidence that AR can be a very good NFL QB if he stays healthy and the pieces fall the right way for him.

In one league I only drafted one QB .........and it was Rodgers...in the 13th rd.

I think he has the tools ans supporting cast to be a top 10 QB fantasy wise.

For redraft leagues, I think you may be disappointed with Rodgers as your starter, but not devastated. Something like 3500 yards with 22 TDs is what I'm expecting (though as a GB fan of course I'd love more). Those are Phil Rivers stats, not great. Rodgers will also have 25+ turnovers.

Ah, I can't wait for the real games to start.

All aboard the Choo Choo Train, all aboard, all aboard, Choo Choo!

2 Td's so far in the first half.......keep in close Lions so we can get some 2nd half TD's. I could use a 4 or 5 TD day by my QB this week.

Got em started in 3 of my leagues this week...keep it rolling! Who else has him?

I decided to hang onto Aaron Rodgers in my league instead of picking up CJ3 and held firm and I'm looking pretty smart so far. 3 tds and over 200 yards in the 1st half. Lendale White stealing CJ3's mojo so far today. Aaron Rodgers is the #1 sleeper this year imo.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the two teams in my fanball leagues that traded Rodgers to me. Without your generosity I would be stuck starting either Bulger or Warner as my starters. On a side note, I would also like to thank the teams that took TJ off my hands and traded me Calvin Johnson & ROY respectively. Bless all four of your teams.

I've been telling Packers fans that he'd be good for years, and have held onto him in dynasty since drafting him as a rookie

Time to start considering him over Brees on a weekly basis based on matchups...

Happy to have him as my 3rd QB behind Favre and Rivers. Even happier that I started him today. I think I'm going to rename my team "The Ghosts Of Bart Starr".

Sometimes is fun to look back at old threads and see what you thought about a player before he made it. According to FBG's player page, Rodgers finished 2nd last year and 1st this year for Qb's in fantasy football.

Not a bad start to your fantasy career Mr. Rodgers. Of course you're the new "Tony Romo" in terms of having to win a playoff game for your team, but with the arm that guy has, it'll only be a matter of time.

In most leagues, Rodgers finished as the No. 1 QB in fantasy football last year. This year, most owners are selecting Aaron Rodgers to be the No. 1 fantasy QB again this year.

So I ask you two seasons later, did the Packers make the right move in letting Farve go to the Jets and then Minny assuming that Rodgers probably wouldn't have stuck around and would be playing for another team and Farve/Green Bay wondering if he would come back and play for Green Bay this year.

Fantasy wise, both have been great. Rodgers No. 1 last year and Farve No. 3? The year before that, Rodgers definately outplayed Farve. Green Bay fans, where do you stand now? Would you rather have Brett Farve doing what he does, playing the waiting game but probably coming back and he would have been in Green Bay for his entire career or is letting Farve go easily the right decision as it would have been a mistake to let a QB as talented as Rodgers go for 2 to 3 more years of Farve. If you look at many of the original replies, it's interesting reading from a lot of quality posters and Packer fans.
