Adam Schefter reports Carolina RB's unavailable for trade (1 Viewer)

DWill would be unstoppable on the Colts. Man, that would make their offense completely indefensible.
Agree as a runner, but does he have the receiving and pass-blocking skills to fit in that offense?
he has both yesI for one would like to see an Indy offense with a talent like DeWill
As a Colts homer, just thinking of this for the first time made me say "Wow!" out loud. And I like Addai too. But Williams with the Colts? Wow!Just wondering about his pass-protection skills, though.

My guess of what 2 teams called were Washington and GB.

I don't see GB giving the draft picks that are needed but I could see Washington.

Washington is looking to make the playoffs and looking for help on offense. Shannahan is use to a good running game and DeAngelo would give him that.

Snyder has shown he doesn't love his draft picks and will spend $$$ to get high priced vetern players.

I would like "Schefty" to let us know what 2 teams were sniffing around about DeAngelo.

Why would Carolina trade Williams unless there's a blockbuster offer on the table?
Because he may not be part of the team's long-term plans, you have a viable replacement already on the roster and getting compensation in the 2011 draft is arguably superior to hoping the compensatory system is in place so you receive a pick in the 2012 draft.
Long term plans? He's their best player and still fairly young.
He's 27, their team stinks and they have a younger, cheaper backup who has performed exceptionally well as a starter. In my opinion, the smart thing to do is increase your chances to get more players as good as he is and the best way to do that is to add a draft pick or two. Trading Williams gives you the opportunity to do that.ETA - I think they should be looking to trade Steve Smith too. They need to blow this mess up and start from scratch with younger players.
This isn't FF. Those guys are the face of the franchise. A franchise that is struggling. If you deal your two best players you become the Pittsburg Pirates. You're a farm system for the elite teams. The Panthers should TRADE FOR elite guys. Go after V-JACK. Bring guys in. You don't take the face of your franchise and have a fire sale. For a 2nd round pick. *lol* The Panthers don't need to "get value". When you deal a guy in FF you don't have to worry about selling tickets. He's the core of the team. They need QB help. Could use a WR. They need to build around him, not ship him out of town. A 2nd round pick. *lol* Yeah that will really boost ticket sales.
Couple things. The seats are PSL's so the tickets are already bought. They dont need QB help. They are too stupid to go after VJax, who in my opinion is exactly what you need opposite Smith. They also need draft picks. Tons of them due to the ineptness of Hurney and Co. A 2nd round pick for Armanti Edwards was just sheer brilliance. They faked the whole league out on that one. Most analysts said after the draft that Edwards would have been there in the 6th and possibly an undrafted player but the panthers felt the need to trade up to get him for some reason. He has been active one game. He is scared of getting hit in the NFL, never a good sign for a wr/kick returner.
