Add/Drop and Waiver Wire wonderment thread: Do you still own Domingo Santana? (1 Viewer)

Watching today's starting lineups. ARod—DH batting 7th. Bautista batting 2nd for Toronto. Torii Hunter batting cleanup for Minn.

Interested to see where other notable guys are hitting and who's starting where.

damn good fantasy sleeper
:goodposting: MI eligible, basically free, prime lineup position and hitting in front of the most feared hitter in baseball.

He shows up 2B eligible for me in Serious Biz on CBS.

Oh yeah, doesn't have it on the sub profile but it's there on the player profile. Thanks!

So does anyone REALLY know anything about Odubel? I really want him to be good since he's hitting 2nd and qualifies at 2b/ss and soon to be OF.

Votto 2nd.

Moustakas 2nd :loco:
The Votto one I can almost understand, but Moustakas batting second is bonkers. .290 career OBP!
Their leadoff man's career OBP is only nine points better

Jennry Mejia could not come in for the save opportunity. Complained of elbow soreness.

Stash Familia if available.

I'm making it a yearly tradition to panic drop a consensus Top 40 SP during the first week of the season. Last year, it was Masterson (and Kennedy and Lackey, but they were more waiver guys to start the season).

This year....I think Cashner's got to go. I've owned him for years. It's always something with that guy. Maybe this is the year he puts it together, but I'm not excited about it enough to hold him on my roster for the next 5 days.

Next up, I had that same terrible "am I really doing this?" feeling that I had with Masterson/Cashner when I bought Phil Hughes. Hoping he gets bombed for two more outings, so I can cut him and go on about forgetting about that one year where Phil Hughes was a good fantasy SP.

Cashner owns a 2.07 ERA and 0.987 WHIP in 182.1 career innings at Petco Park, including a 1.43 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in 11 starts there last season.

If nothing else, there's some serious value to leaving him on the bench and using only his home starts.

Maybe, but I hate burning a roster spot on that sort of thing. If/when I don't feel comfortable rolling an SP out every time he pitches, I'm cutting bait.

With new closers potentially popping up everyday, and this year's slate of solid, surprise batters sorting themselves out, roster spots are just too valuable.

Plus, it's 2015, you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a flawed pitcher that'll luck himself into a stupid low ERA.

Eh, ok then. You seem to have made up your mind. I don't know how shallow your league is, but guys that you can count on every time he pitches don't exist on my waiver wire. And rarely are those flawed pitchers you mentioned easily identified before the stupid low ERA happens. If they were easily identified, the outcome probably wouldn't be luck and they probably weren't all that flawed.

You are right about it being the time to speculate on unowned closer candidates and surprise hitters, I just wouldn't cut bait of Cashner after one dud start to do it.

Any waiver wire catchers interesting?
Vogt, but he might not be on a lot of wires
Probably ESPN, but it's because he won't be C eligible until May sometime.

I picked up Hundley for the weekend home stand against the Cubs to cover any Norris off days since it looks like Jaso is headed to the DL. I'll probably keep him after, but I'm not married to him beyond Sunday.

Sweet logic.
