Add/Drop and Waiver Wire wonderment thread: Do you still own Domingo Santana? (2 Viewers)

If you think Bauer is going to keep it going, he certainly has a shot to, now is the time to grab him. Too bad the Tribe's offense blows. He just had another great start on Sunday. He'll be up within a week or two at the most. He's owned in less than half of CBS leagues and barely any ESPN leagues (1% seems really low but that's what it says). Was picked up in both of my Yahoo leagues within the last week, not by me.

Kipnis pulled an abdominal, so if in need add Aviles. Keep an eye on Jose Ramirez, but me thinks they want to give him more time in the minors

 
I guess Lorenzo Cain could be back soon. The Jarrod Dyson ride has been fun.

I might even keep him. He's kind of perfect for a daily league (or a league where you are really tired of watching Marte strike out a few times every night).

 
fwiw, KC is in SD and in SEA next week. Guthrie should pitch twice, so could be a good streamer.

just notcied because i have yordano, who pitches twice.

 
Who has the better chance of getting two starts today...Ethier or Gomes?

edit: both are starting in game 1. Ethier faces a lefty in the nightcap and Gomes faces a righty.

Melky has a bruised shin and Anthony Gose has been called up - could be some cheap steals for a little while (assuming he can get on base).

And striking out 36% of the time. This may be a learning year for him.

Arismendy Alcantara is hitting well at Iowa and would be the likely callup if Castro was seriously hurt (which doesn't appear to be the case).

 
Broadcast said precautionary but Bourn pulled for hamstring tightness. Same problem as early in season. Steals chasers keep an eye on nyjer morgan.

Tomlin gets the call for Tuesday...no Bauer yet. Bauer pitched 7 shut out innings in Columbus yesterday.

tomlins turn timed better and he has been pitching well too, easier to manage if he gets the shot first.

Petit's peripherals look good. XFip matches ERA last year and this year. Normal BABIP. Great K rates and low walks.

Against a struggling PIT team, seems like a good play.

I guess the only question is what kind of a pitch count he might be on?

He threw 54 and 72 pitches his last two times out.

Matt Cain cleared to start Monday
The Giants cleared Matt Cain to start Monday's game against the Pirates after they were satisfied the cut on the tip of his right index finger has healed sufficiently, according to MLB.com.

Cain was scratched from Tuesday's start against the Padres after cutting his finger with a knife trying to make a pregame snack. Manager Bruce Bochy said Cain won't be under any restricitions Monday.

The Giants have placed right-hander Matt Cain on the 15-day disabled list with a cut on his right index finger. He cut himself with a kitchen knife a few days ago.

Cain, 29, is 0-3 with a 4.35 ERA in five starts and 31 innings this season. This is only his second career DL stint -- he missed the minimum 15 days after taking a comebacker to the forearm last August.

The Giants will recall right-hander Jake Dunning to fill the roster spot. The 25-year-old had a 2.84 ERA in 25 1/3 relief innings for San Francisco last season.

In all likelihood, long reliever Yusmeiro Petit will replace Cain in the rotation for the time being. The 29-year-old has a 2.91 ERA in 20 2/3 innings this year.

I would have guessed around 90. He went 91 but didn't make it out of the 5th :bag:

Always liked Morton, but he never seems to get it together. Ever since he tried emulating Roy Halladay, whenever I see him out there, he seems to be effective. Problem is, he's never out there. He keeps the ball in play, doesn't strike out a ton of guys, seems to me he's a better real pitcher than fantasy baseball pitcher.

Young pitcher in a pitchers park, decent k ratios, but nothing special, imho. I'd spot start him at best, seems like one of those guys that may put it together one day given opportunity but for now, just a prospect.

- Kyle Gibson

meh. doesn't strike out a lot of guys, seems that he has one good outing followed by one bad one. Walks too many guys, still kind of young, but not buying,

- Ryan Vogelsong

probably the safest bet, but at 36 doesn't offer all that much upside. Nothing special, seems like a back end of the rotation guy for both real baseball teams and fantasy squads.

that's all I've got :shrug:

 
Thoughts on Chris Heisey? Will get Bruce's ABs. Seems to be running more. Has some pop. Been hitting leadoff, but where will he go when Hamilton comes back?
