Add/Drop and Waiver Wire wonderment thread: Do you still own Domingo Santana? (2 Viewers)

Also got Greene'd. Alvarez and Morse likely done for the week too. My opponent may have lost four players in the last two days though. Just that time of year. War of attrition takes it's toll.

Got sniped for Greene on waivers, got Hammel instead. Lucky, good, etc.
even though i hated the result, i did think greene was sort of a no brainer in a pts league too vs the worst offense in the AL and a bad pitcher. He was in my lineup all along. Norris on the other hand, you guys convinced me of and of course he was great. Thanks for that one.

Would you guys burn your #3 waiver priority on Pederson? Probably keepable for 2 more seasons.
This late in the year, probably.

Are you playing for anything in 2014?
I am about 3 roto points out of 1st. I doubt anyone else will go through waivers thats going to actually help me anyways.

Whats everyones thoughts on Sonny Gray? Has an easy two start week next week but hes been awful lately. Hes something like the 140th ranked SP over the last month in my league and the A's have been slumping. I still think I have to play him due to two easy matchups.

2 starts, so I'm rolling him out there sink or swim.

Trying Lonnie Chisenhall for the stretch run. Using D'arnaud more lately in the utility spot, he's been big. This is the best team I've ever had in my home league, just need to hold off one team...

Gonna pick up Mookie Betts but not sure who to play him over, Dee Gordon who has been abysmal but has some great matchups coming up or Charlie Blackmon who has one week on the road where he sucks and one at home where hes great. Its a TWO week championship. I guess benching Kipnis is an option too.

Also decided the wrong catcher this week between mesoraco and molina.

With Springer coming up, in a standard h2h points league starting 3 OF and 1 U I have:

Choo

C. Gomez

Melky Cabrera

Martin Prado

Victor Martinez at U

Would you drop any of these guys for Springer?
I'd cut Melky or Prado for him.
I'd drop Melky. Prado's multi-position eligibility is useful
Even if I have Matt Carpenter at 2nd and Miguel Cabrera at 3rd?
prado, melky and vmart will end up with similar lines this year and prado can play 3 positions.
good call here.

Barring a career night from Kinsler I'm done. LaRoche, Kendrick, Rosenthal, and Yelich of all people were my undoing.

Yanks are off today but anyone know if Gardner's tummy ache is going to be an issue going forward this week (he missed Sat and Sun games)?

The four wild card teams in the league I commish all beat the four division winners (16-teamer).

I lobbied to go with either a 10-team playoff (top two records get byes to semifinals) or a 6-teamer, to give some reward to the best in the regular season. Most guys voted to go back to the 8-team bracket. So they get what they wanted.

Fantasy baseball playoffs are really arbitrary. A 10 team playoff, even with byes, renders the regular season near-meaningless.

And dreadfully dull, 90% of the time. We have enough apathy already, having teams that are buried by May would be pretty bad.

You can never have too much apathy

You're clearly not in a league where someone leaves four injured/demoted players in their starting lineup for an entire week.

Yeah, stuff like that doesn't happen in head-to-head.

Roto is chess. HTH is checkers.
