ADP data off Antsports - better options? (1 Viewer)

Typically, I like to use something that at least somewhat mirrors our scoring system, which is PPR. So I pull Antsports ADP from "high performance" serious mocks over the previous couple of weeks, reformat it, and import it into the DD. Has served me well so far, but I'm always looking to improve.

Anyone using anything they think is more accurate?

Thanx for the reply, David. Normally I don't find the need to venture far from FBG, but what you pointed out is, I assume, based on some variation of "Standard FBG Scoring." Is that incorrect?

Because my league is a PPR, I think that has a significant impact on ADP.

Also, the number of teams in the league has an impact - 10 v 12 v 16. I want to customize that as much as possible, assuming it makes a difference.

Antsports now provides average draft position from real drafts conducted on the site. I would use these instead of the "serious mocks." In many cases, the serious mocks include folks trying out unusual strategies to see how they play out and this can skew ADP. When you look at only real drafts, the data is much more predictive of what folks are really doing.

Not for nothing, but I also find Antsports full of people who just don't care or finish the mocks. In one now that, Lord help me, will have me pulling my hair out. Second round and we've already had two people skip their picks.

I mean come on people....

So I don't use them as a Bible of ADP. It's fairly unreliable IMO.

Regardless of where they come from, ADPs should be viewed with a great amount of uncertainty after one gets past, say, pick 2. Real humans don't do averages. That said, for use in apps, the data from the *real* drafts at Ants are probably better than anything else for a PPR situation

Agreed that the additional of "Real draft" ADP will help the Ant data immensely this year. Last year i went back and compared their final ADP against my draft and they were way off. I am in a competitive league, so that might have something to do with it. Though i did notice that for the most part, Ant was on target, except for the sleepers or quasi-sleepers. For those, the actual pick was much higher (re: closer to 1) than the Mock results
