I posted this in another thread on Friday:
I've been in a two team, start 2 QB league going on my sixth year now. Typical FBG performance scoring. Start 2 QB, 2RB, 3 WR/TEs. Peyton is most assuredly a first-rounder, and likely will be picked in top 5.
Anyway, FWIW, I crunched some numbers earlier that you might find helpful. From 2002-2005 (last 4 years), these are the average number of players drafted at each position in my 2 QB league over the first five rounds (cumulatively):
Round 1: 7.25 RB, 2.25 QB, 0.5 WR
Round 2: 13.25 RB, 3.75 QB, 3 WR
Round 3: 16 RB, 8.5 QB, 5.5 WR
Round 4: 18 RB, 12.5 QB, 9.5 WR
Round 5: 20.25 RB, 14.75 QB, 15 WR
What does this tell us? You don't necessarily have to grab an elite QB early, but you really don't wanna wait too long past mid-3rd or 4th round to grab your first QB. You can do fairly well with a guy in the lower top-10 range (Delhomme, Green, Favre) paired with a more mediocre QB, but you do not want to enter your season starting 2 QBs out of, say, Carr, Kitna, Simms, and Rivers.
On the flip side, there's generally some good WR value around Round 3.
And, as always, the true key to a great draft in ANY league in my opinion -- hitting big on the mid- to late-round WRs. I'm currently struggling to identify those guys now for my Monday draft.
