ADP vs McFadden (1 Viewer)

McFadden looks like a very talented running back. Adrian Peterson looks like the best running back since Barry Sanders. As a rookie who is still learning the game, he is a cut above first-ballot HOF'er LaDainian Tomlinson in his prime.

We have not seen a combination of size, strength and agility since Bo Jackson. If he can stay healthy for the next ten years, he will own all the records.

This year he has been, and LT hasn't been injured. 6.1 YPC even after the SF game. I didn't say AD will have a better career than LT, but he has had a better year than LT, and LT has been healthier.
You can't compare their numbers since the Vikes OL is >>>>>>>>>>> than the Chargers OL this year.
On what basis do you make that claim?

after watching that... ADP is more physcal where DMac just burns people... DMac to me is taking ADP's body with Bush's Skill / Speed. DMac will be successful in the NFL.
McFadden isn't nearly as strong as AD. He's built more like a WR than a RB.
Very true... but he will fill out... he can put on an easy 10 too 15 pds in a season or 2 and lose nothing in speed but gain a whole lot of power.

Following your argument, you can never compare two players because of differing circumstances; O-line, QB, coaching philosophy etc.FWIW, I'll put most NFL coaching staffs >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Vikes coaching staff.

And you can't say that LT > Benson because the Chargers OL >>>>>>>> Bears OL.

 I don't think it's quite that simple. As others have said, he doesn't have a great build and he doesn't do some of the things that you expect an elite RB prospect to do. I've rarely seen him make a sharp lateral cut or break a tackle. He's very good at finding a seam and running vertically, but I don't know if that will be enough to make him an elite pro at the NFL level.

As I've said before, I'm not quite as in love with McFadden as most. I think he has a chance to be good. However, I don't get a "can't miss" vibe from him like I did with guys like Peterson, Bush, Lynch, and Cadillac.

I actually think Jonathan Stewart is the safest bet from this class to become a 300+ carry RB in the NFL. That doesn't mean I think he's the best back available. It just means he has the least risk. I also think Felix Jones and Rashard Mendenhall have a chance to be better pro RBs than McFadden.

McFadden will still be the top RB on my board in all likelihood, but I don't think he compares to Peterson at all. If someone offered me 1.01 for Peterson, I would turn it down without a second thought.

I'm completely with you on this.... but really, couldn't you have helped the argument and left this guy off the list?

Cadillac won rookie of the year and was playing reasonably well this year before getting hurt. He's not LaDainian Tomlinson, but he's a good football player and a starting caliber back. Just because I think a player is "can't miss" doesn't mean I think he's going to be a superstar. I think Jonathan Stewart is a very safe bet to become a productive starter in the NFL, but I see him as a fringe FF RB1 type and not necessarily a guy who will dominate in any system. I felt the same way about Lynch last year. I didn't think he'd be a superstar, but I knew he wouldn't be a bust. That's also how I felt with Cadillac.
