Footballguy
I'll call it right now. The guy has all of the talent in the world, but his tall frame, and upright gliding running style will get him more time on the IR, than in the endzone. In an interview he compared his running style to Eric Dickerson. Well of course he would, right?! But I've seen this show before. Just like Chris Brown did before him, I imagine he will be lights out a few games, make everyone on the field miss, and put up great numbers, but sooner rather than later I suspect he will get lit up like a Christmas tree trying to glide and dance through a hole, and some OLB will take aim on his tall thin frame and knock him back to his glory days as a Freshman at OU. He will then miss the second half of the game, the next one, maybe the one after that, and then be limited for the next few as well. 5 weeks later he's back and "healthy" and now gunshy! Takes him a few games to get his confidence going and just as he regains his swagger. BOOM! To the IR!
Sophomore season is an intriguing one... Classic boom or bust. Do you look at the guy who was a highlight reel when he played, or the guy that was constantly banged up, and struggled in short yardage scenarios. OH YEAH, I forgot to mention that most of his success and hype from ESPN will be from big plays and long runs, but I doubt that he'll be able to grind it out in the 1-2 yard range. Just an opinion, but that's where I see him getting really nailed! Trying to waltz his way into a first down on 3rd and 1.
In 2008 he will be on two lists: Super Sleeper must have, and Do NOT draft!
As far as dynasty leagues go, I think this is the perfect time to sell the pick, and either move down to get Calvin Johnson and a 2nd. Or really trade down and get my boy R Mecham, and another proven back like Rudi Johnson. And yes I think that some Jabronee would give up Rudi for AD in a dynasty league. But I sure wouldn't.
