Adrian Peterson gets speeding ticket (1 Viewer)

Doesn't Minnesota have no speed limit in some parts of the state? Or is that Montana?
Montana, but I think that has been repealed and now they have something like 85 mph
It was Montana. I know they were talking about putting in speed limits. The problem is that people in Alberta like to go down there in their expensive cars and drive 160 MPH and it was getting to be a problem.I dont know what speed limit they decided to set it at, but 85 MPH sounds reasonable for that place and the level of crazy that goes with it.
they used to have no speed limit during the day and like 85 at night. I drove there. It was fun.and agree 110 isn't even really that fast in a car with a big engine. The 55 moh speed limit was set due to the deficiencies in crash safety in 1970's cars. Today the speed limit should be 80 really, they (cops and local govt's) just make to damn much money for them to legally change the speeds to what they should be.That u can get a ticket for 25 over on most roads while floating the speed of traffic illustrates that these laws are bs.

I was 17, and was going the 109 in a 65 as well (weird). Cop pulled me over and I lost my license for a year.

Judge said that is the longest she could take it from me.

Got it back in 5 months, with a letter to the judge saying I wont do it again.

I'm just happy they didnt take my car on the spot

He was probably only in 3rd gear in his Lambo. What idiot cop in Minnesota gives ADRIAN PETERSON a speding ticket?Get an autograph and let the man go!
At a certain point, even the most generous officers reach their limit. An Illinois Trooper got arrested for doing 140 in a vette down a tollroad. You think AP getting away scott free is worth their job if the higher ups found out or the media?

Who cares, good for him.
Yeah...who cares that speed is one of the major causes for fatalities on the road.Adrian Peterson or not...any other player for that matter...I don't think its a "good for him" kind of thing.Pretty careless really. And yes, Id say this if it was Peterson, or Aaron Rodgers, or Peyton Manning, or anyone.

He didn't 'realize' he was going that fast?? Um, Adrian, you were going twice the speed limit.

MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was cited for speeding over the weekend after police clocked him driving 109 mph on a highway in suburban Minneapolis.

Peterson was driving his BMW on a state highway in a 55-mph zone. Anderson says he was given a citation and allowed to drive away. She called it a “very routine” traffic stop.

Peterson tells The Associated Press he didn’t realize how fast he was going. He said he “got a little speeding ticket” and said he planned to be more careful.
Just busting on you in a friendly way, but your screen name is "hotlanta" and you ask how he didn't realize how fast he was going? Growing up and frequenting Atlanta regularly, I know you can be going 85 mph in the right hand lanes of I-285 and I-85 just to keep up with the pace of traffic
'That's actually very true, except its the left lanes not the right. I drive on I-285 every day and am astonished at how fast people really go without even caring. I regularly see people doing 90+ on 285 without nary a cop around. I don't think Georgia employs any state troopers to be honest so as soon as people get out of Alabama or Florida, it's pedal to the medal around here.
Except I live in about 20 miles from a town called Arcade which was profiled on 60 minutes for its speed traps. They are infamous. Atlanta...well...I was driving on I-85 two weeks ago heading south towards N. Druid Hills. I was going 80 in the HOV lane. A black Lexus was weaving in and out of traffic and passed us at a good clip, probably going 90-95. Not 30 seconds later, he spins out in front of us; his car moving out of control towards the HOV concrete barrier and in front of the SUV just ahead of me. His car comes to a stop literally inches from the wall. We all manage to stop without hitting anyone. Fortunately there wasn't much traffic behind us or all three of us probably get hit. He pulls away and resumes the same behavior that nearly got us all killed. Maybe he was a running back or wide receiver :hifive:

Damn, Childress must be strict on getting to practice on time.

(KFFL) Pamela Miller and Bob Von Sternberg, of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, report Minnesota Vikings RB Bernard Berrian was cited Monday, Nov. 30, for driving 104 miles per hour in a 60 mile-per-hour zone on Interstate 694.

Any relation to WR Bernard Berrian?

Yeah I guess because I would realize when I was going 110 and flying by everyone like a rocketship that I was speeding. And that makes me a grandpa? Your response makes you a dumb ####.And anyone who says they can't tell the difference between 80 and 110 MPH is an idiot, plain and simple. Who gives a rats ### how the car feels? LOOK AT OUTSIDE!!! Anyone with an IQ over room temperature should be able to make that distinction. Apparently, some on this board, can't.
You have no idea until you've been in a car capable of going from 80 to 110 in a blink of an eye. As stable as the high end cars are at that speed, with low wind noise and quiet tires to boot, yes, it IS very similar. Especially if you have been driving 80-90 for a long stretch, you get velocitized. Ever get off a highway and the next road is 45mph? It feels like you're going 25 at best. Can you tell a difference if you try? Sure, but if you neglect it and have your mind elsewhere you can easily slip up in a high end BMW.
Exactly. :moneybag:
