really? I must have really been seeing things when Peterson left every player on the field in the dust twice yesterday. How exactly would a person define "explosive"? I think after yesteday, Adrian Peterson's picture would be beside that word in the dictionary. WOW is all I can say, I think two TD's around 70 yards would probably be explosive. And marketable? How marketable will Bush continue to be after all the details that are coming out about all the money he received at USC?Just wanted to highlight this post for those missing it the first time around:
If polling actual NFL coaches, or people who really know what they're talking about, 100% would say Reggie Bush, no doubt about it. More marketable, no injury-riddled past, and so much more explosive than AD. I feel confident that anyone who really knows football wouldnt have to think twice about this.
To be fair, note that the Crippler post was from a month ago, but I couldn't believe it when I read it then. I have not gone as far out on a limb as some have in backing AP in this thread and others, but I will simply say that I put my belief where it counts. Three leagues, three rosters with Peterson.really? I must have really been seeing things when Peterson left every player on the field in the dust twice yesterday. Not that it really matters, but...Bush ran 4.33 and 4.37 at his pro day at USC.Peterson ran 4.41 and 4.47 at the NFL combine. Those times for Peterson are the official times per scout.com.for those saying that Reggie is faster, ummm..40 times:Adrian Peterson 4.37Reggie Bush 4.38
ADP runs a 4.3. You're just going to have to trust me on this...Not that it really matters, but...Bush ran 4.33 and 4.37 at his pro day at USC.Peterson ran 4.41 and 4.47 at the NFL combine. Add a 64-yard TD run against the tough run defense of San Diego, plus another TD, and AD is so far outshining LT in this game. Too bad they took him out the next time they got within the 5 yard line and Taylor fumbled it away.I think it's clear now that AD is more of a threat to score from anywhere on the field than Bush is.OK, add a 35-yard TD run. His average per carry is down to only 14.43 now, but 231 yards and 3 TD's rushing in Chicago isn't bad as a backup in his 5th NFL game.OK, add a 73-yard TD run. He's averaging 16 yards a carry against the Bears in Chicago. This guy is unreal. How many runs over 50 yards does Bush have in his NFL career? How many over 18 yards even?OK, add a 4th 100-yard rushing game through less than 4 1/2 games and an unreal TD run of 67 yards, and he's not even the starter yet. If anyone still wants to mock me for thinking AD is a threat to score from anywhere on the field should watch today's run against an elite defense.Through less than 3 1/2 games, Peterson has 3 100-yard rushing games (already tying the team rookie season record held by Chuck Foreman and more than Bush has in his NFL career), a 60-yard receiving TD, and a run of 55 yards, all on an offense that has shown no other weapons. Is it still unfathomable to think that AD is more of a threat to score from anywhere on the field than Bush? Through 5 times as many games, Bush's career longest run is still 18 yards, and he's averaging 2.8 yards a carry and 4.4 yards a catch this season, a fraction of AD's averages.Petersons longest run in the NFL is only FIFTEEN yards.also, it's pretty laughable to have this debate when Bush's longest run the entire year (in 2006) was EIGHTEEN yards . . .
Add a 46-yard TD run and a 250+ yard game -- the first RB to ever have 2 200 yard games in his rookie season, and he's not even half way through his rookie season yet...Add a 64-yard TD run against the tough run defense of San Diego, plus another TD, and AD is so far outshining LT in this game. Add another 35-yard run, a new single-game NFL rushing record, and over 1000 yards rushing only half way through his rookie season for the NFL's leading rusher by far this season.
