AFC only has two teams over .500 (1 Viewer)

And Baltimore just suffered two tremendous loses on defense in Lewis & Webb. Ngata has an MCL sprain and Suggs is still out.

Houston just got throttled by Rodgers & The Pack last night. Not looking good for the conference as a whole.

The Bills fan in me is pumped they are in first place after six weeks, but the Bills realist also accepts they are in last place.

Good ol AFC Least.

Did a thread a few weeks back about how the AFC was 1-7 vs the NFC. I believe it is now 19-9 NFC.

At least 1 8-8 team probably make the playoffs from the AFC while a 10-6 team misses from the NFC.

What is the generic Vega$ line for the super bowl right now? NFC - 7 I will guess.

I remember how just a few years ago it used to be the exact opposite. This is what makes the NFL the best league. :football:

Pats have lost 3 games by a combined 4 Pts. One due to terrible officiating, one due to a field goal that went over (and to the right :homer: ) of the post and one to a good old fashioned exploitation of the girl scouts that comprise the NE secondary. Two of those games were to NFC teams.

First year in my opinion that the NFC is legitimately better than the AFC talent wise in a long time, they have been more competitive for years though.

A lot of dynasties on their way out the doors.

Perfect storm a-brewing for MANNING BOWL ... :tinfoilhat:

Big brother gets to exit gracefully, hoisting the Lombardi Trophy; after being all but written off a year ago

(ITSATIP - this league does love them some dramatics)

I am shocked to see it listed right now as even. link

You think older gomer is done after this year?

I began notcing this a few weeks ago but at that time I thought, oh its early in the season to start drawing any conclusions but its getting closer to the halfway mark and it still shows a high proportion of NFC teams over .500 and only 2 AFC teams above .500 and you're right, Baltimore got some bad news losing, Ray-Ray, Ngata, and Webb. Huge blow to a defense that wasn't nearly as strong as it was in the past.Houston should be back so I'm not concerned about them at all. I would imagine this trend means that more teams will be in playoff contention in the AFC much later into the year than in past years so hopefully we'll see better late season matchups.

That is an amazingly shockingy thread title. I knew, in general, things were flat all over but I hadn't looked at it by conference. That is crazy!

And, no, the jaguars are not still in it. LOL

I still don't believe in the Cardinals or Seahawks, but good on them for being 4-2.
I believe in seagalls. Great Defense AND great running game is enough. That s the part that zona lacks and is why they are a pretender.
The Seahawks have the best QB in the division too. Wilson has done everything the coaching staff has asked of him while being brought along slowly. It's interesting that by the time they clash this Thursday, the 49er's will be the team with a QB controversy, given how loudly many were calling for Flynn a few weeks ago.

Just you posting that seems to have moved it to -1. Still seems like a ridiculous price.-QG

I'm not much into tieing up my money long term but this looks like a good spot. Might even be able to hedge a middle later.

If Pats make it, it will never be +7, they'll be faves. If Houston makes it, it won't be +7.

If Atlanta makes it, they won't be -7.

Even if NFC is better overall, the only team that will get line respect is Packers.
