Of course. D Thomas and Gronk play were almost identical. One kept alive for a drive which resulted in 7 points and the other one no flag for a punt.

Why can't Simms just say; the defender had his hands on the TE but the refs decide not to call, perhaps the ball was uncatchable in their eyes.
