Penalty was for "before the pass was thrown" but the flag was thrown after the incompletion.

The refs don't always get the rules right. This play comes up all the time with fumbles. Not sure how much NFL some of you watch. It was ruled correctlyCan you cite the specific rule you are referring to? Here is the official 2015 rulebook for reference.Yeah can we stop this already? It's a well known rule that they implemented a couple years ago. That overturned call was ridiculous. The whistle blew, the ref signaled incompletion, and the Pats player picked up the ball after both those things happened. Replays should stop as soon as a whistle is blown. It's a terrible awful rule.
Play till the whistle unless it's possibly a play that could get reviewed then you have to keep playing post whistle.
Lets says a Den player flattens a Pats player going for the ball but in the process recovers the ball, all of this happens post whistle. Den player will get a flag for a late hit but it's worth it to recover the ball.
Well now that they talked more about them then probably. Glad they pointed out that the Patriots' Microsoft Tablets were working just fine. It's almost better for Microsoft to have them break because it's more free advertisingOh my god hahahahhahahahhahahaha more on the tablets. How manytimes did she say microsoft surface there!?
Think they realized their mistake and got a quick call to try to back track.

Twice as many as Microsoft thought would workHalf the tablets are working? Sounds about right for Microsoft.
Maybe the pass rush is in his head? This is the worst I've seen Brady look in a long time.
Miami week 17?This is the worst I've seen Brady look in a long time.
A lot of helicopters have props that only turn about 86 degrees.Lol...no.WOOOW.... Shades of the Elway helicopter play.
That idiotic play by Hillman was enough to singlehandedly keep it close.Broncos dominating but only up by 5. Those will be a close one.
Well that changes everything.A lot of helicopters have props that only turn about 86 degrees.Lol...no.WOOOW.... Shades of the Elway helicopter play.

The rule was changed in a couple years ago. The Rams had a similar fumble earlier this year and the ball was returned to the Rams. This play comes up all the time with fumbles.
