It's pretty stupid that the offensive player can move into a penalty

happens though. Same in basketball and other sports, the offensive player can put themselves in a position where the defenders momentum can't stop them from causing a foul. Not the defenders fault really, but it was a penalty. Weird play.

Well they can do it for facemask, roughing the passer etc. I'm not debating anything. Just wishful thinking.
