:XI hate cancer.
My uncle was diagnosed with pancreatic in April and died in June. Two months to the DAY of diagnosis.Just found out that my wife's grandmother has had cancer for 7 years and never got treatment or told anybody. She's under the knife as I type this to remove tumors. I hope she makes it but it sure doesn't sound good.
Has anyone heard anything yet? Thanks in advance!!Any updates on Green for Friday? Did he practice? Is he playing? With a heavy heart this week, Green will come on like a lion if he plays. He's a tough SOB mentally and physically. But if he's too injured, obviously he won't go. I think he could be a huge play this weekend vs. Miami...duh.

Very sorry to hear that.Sabertooth said:Just found out that my wife's grandmother has had cancer for 7 years and never got treatment or told anybody. She's under the knife as I type this to remove tumors. I hope she makes it but it sure doesn't sound good.
The Houston Chronicle's John McClain reports Ahman Green (knee) will sit out his second straight game Sunday.
Ron Dayne will get another start, and should be licking his chops for a matchup against the NFL's worst run defense in Miami. It's uncertain when Green will be back. His knee was said to be improving earlier in the week, but the death of his stepfather may have contributed to his absence.

The defense may have to win Sunday's game. It's time for Mario Williams to have a game like he played against Kansas City and not go a fourth consecutive game without a sack.
Perhaps you can, but I can't remember an offense having so many injuries this early in the season, but injuries are no excuse for losing to the Dolphins, who are 0-4 for only the third time in franchise history.
Once again, the Texans will play without running back Ahman Green, receiver Andre Johnson, receiver Jacoby Jones, receiver Jerome Mathis and center Steve McKinney. But they still should be able to beat Miami for the second consecutive season.
Suddenly a little dusty in here."He's my stepdad, so he basically raised somebody else's seed, and I'm proud of the fact that he took that responsibility," Green said. "He did an awesome job of taking care of my mom and me when I was growing up."Scott was there as Green flowered into a high school All-American in Omaha, then saw him lead the Nebraska Cornhuskers to a national championship in 1997, rushing for 206 yards in the title game against Tennessee."He made me who I am," Green said. "I've played with a lot of stuff — emotional things, physical injuries, stuff people don't know about. He helped build that confidence and pride to give it all for my team on the field.""The way my dad raised me," Green said, "he basically said you've got to roll with the punches, whether it's pitty-pat punches or the big ones like my family had (Tuesday). I've got to focus on what's in front of me. If he was standing here right now, he'd say, 'Don't worry about me. Go play football.' He told us to let the tears flow ... and then let it be.""I'll never take him off my mind," Green said of his stepfather. "But (playing) will ease the pain a little bit. My dad told me a lot of great things, and that's what I'm going to be thinking about every day."
I disagree. Manful has always seemed to me to be much closer to the pulse of the team and have better info. All McClain wants to do is talk Baylor and the most recent movies he has seen ...John McClain said he was out, but Megan Manfull says he's a game-time decision. As a local homer, I would trust McClain more than Manfull. I'm guessing he's a game-time decision, but will probably be out. Dayne will be a good start. Kubiak has said they will try and run more on short-yardage situations, so Dayne (even though he sucks on short yardage) may get some goal-line oppurtunities.
As a Dayne owner, I will be checking his and Green's status right up to game time. I think he will start and even if he doesn't, I think he will get most of the carries, but it is not clear at this time.So what is the word? It seems that Dayne is a definite to start. Is this the consensus?
Please help us out and post asap when anyone hears the news in the morning.....some of us have pathetically-injured teams and need him to fill a roster spot....Thanks in advance!!Any more word on Green?
I hate the unknown. Some places I read he is injured and will be inactive, and other places I have read said that he is likely to play. They better make him either inactive or active come tomorrow afternoon.

I think he means that he would prefer that Green be officially listed as "inactive" rather than have Green in uniform on the bench.I hate the unknown. That's a good Maddenism. "Y'know, the team that scores the most points is going to be the team that wins!"Cowtippers said:lion_crazz said:I hate the unknown. Exactly. You have to spell it out to some people.lion_crazz said:Meaning that I would like a definite answer. If he is active, let him play. If they do not intend on him playing, make him inactive.
