Airlines gone crazy thread. Brawl on Southwest flight..Riot in Florida airport. (1 Viewer)

Random seats sound horrible and just asking for passengers to get into arguments/fights.
It's actually fairly smooth. You get on in the order the boarding passes say to. Empty seats are for the taking. Full ones aren't. It isn't rocket science or anything. Never seen it cause any issue whatsoever. I wouldn't try it if I had a couple kids though. For me and the wife, it is fine. As for your boarding area, someone mentioned B above being risky. I have never had to sit in the middle with a B boarding pass ever.

Did not seem like a real fight..they should have been yelliing   "I will kill you punk ### MFer!!

This is what I mean.

People just don't realize the etiquette of flying.

Middle seat sucks donkey balls...the one redeeming factor is they should get the armrests.

Want the armrests for both of your arms...then buy the middle seat.

Want to be able to lean to the aisle or look out the window...then give up one armrest.
I think you're making up rules.

A1-15 are for biz class.    You can purchase "Early Boarding" for like $12 or $15.  I do this all the time because I'm 6'4" and want the exit row. I usually get A25-35

Most of the time, A1-15 only has 3-5 people in line.
So why wouldn't you people just pay the $15?  Weird imo.

yep, Southwest Free for All boarding is the most efficient.

If they realized that the average person wasn't 5'4" it would help.  29" of leg room?  What are we midgets?
Plus all the obese people who fly make it miserable.  I flew out of Orlando last year and had the second to last row window.  I always try to get aisle but this was a last minute flight. The flight was boarding and almost every seat was taken except for the 2 next to me so I am thinking this would be great if somehow these are empty.   Then I see a man and a women waddling down the aisle. Man is about 6 foot 350, woman about 5-6 300.  I am 6-1 210.  I am saying to myself please not next to me.  Well they plop down in the aisle and middle in my row and totally pin me to the window.  I am looking around and there is no escape route at all just mounds of flesh and fat legs and one or both did not smell good.  I ask..Would you like the window seat?  Of course they say no.

For the first time in my life I started having a panic attack from feeling trapped.  As the plane started moving I wanted off and almost got up and screamed stop I want off as I had a three hour flight ahead of me.  Had to close my eyes and take deep breaths. I got up to go to the restroom and just stood in the back for about 15 minutes..I was told to sit down but explained and the flight attendant understood but said I had to go back to my seat. Then it was such and ordeal because both had to get totally out of their seats because they were too fat to get by them.

Will not fly now unless I get an aisle seat. Usually my wife and I try to get aisle across from each other.

Ill never understand why people are in such a hurry to get on the plane. So you can sit there longer? I prefer to be last no matter what boarding pass I have. There have been a few times where my carry-on wasnt directly above my head as a result. WTF cares?
I can understand the anxiousness for people boarding near the end who need overhead space for their rollerbags, but those people in the first 5 or 6 boarding groups need to ####ing relax.

This.

After you've flown Southwest a few times you don't want to go back to anything else.  And I've flown more than almost anyone I know, SW
I'm about 70% SW.   Have never had one issue and I've had the change flights several times with no fees.

United the last two years..... two for two....
Tulsa to Boise -  had a tornado drop like 5 miles from the airport 20 minutes before boarding. We were all in the basement quickly. Flight to Denver gets moved back like four times and then is cancelled.  We then get on a flight to DEN by NOT following the herd to the CS Desk and use the app to get around that. That was about the only good thing that happened that day.    Our flight to DEN is 45 minutes late.  I missed my connection to Boise at 12:05 am by 4 minutes. ####ers would not wait four minutes at 12:05am.  So pissed. I had not been to DEN in about 15 years. They give me a $35 coupon to a hotel that cost me $55 cab ride.

Feb we go to Oahu.  Fly to SF from BOI. We land in SF and have to wait a 100 yards from our gate for an HOUR because the plane in our gate has an issue. I'm immediately asking all attendants to go to another gate. Ten minutes later pilot says they don't have authority to do that. About half the plane is going to several Hawaii destinations. One-by-one, we all miss our connecting planes as we watch the app on out phones. 50 minutes of waiting later, they taxi to another ####### gate. We got lucky and only had to wait three hours for another flight. Many had to go the next day. Such stupidity. Missed our anniversary dinner that night at Turtle Bay.

The most reliable airline by far.  But they aren't cheap anymore, and the changes to their FF program just suck.  Unless you have a company that is willing to overpay $200-$400 for no reason for the same flight you get jack squat for points.
