I started him after all the wrangling and mental gymnastics. 28.4 in a ppr. Nice call to the OP.![]()
again, it's not just a rookie . . . otherwise you would have a valid point . . .I started him after all the wrangling and mental gymnastics. 28.4 in a ppr. Nice call to the OP.![]()
I'm glad it worked out for you but I am still calling it a low percentage play. Green may end up having a record breaking season but starting a rookie in game 2 after he showed nothing in game 1 doesn't seem like the best play if you have other options.
He looked like just a rookie in game 1 which is what I was basing my opinion on. I have no doubt that he is going to be a special player but I still stick to my original opinion of the percentages of the play. Kudos to those that played him though.again, it's not just a rookie . . . otherwise you would have a valid point . . .I started him after all the wrangling and mental gymnastics. 28.4 in a ppr. Whoa. I guess this reaction is predictable ...
I agree with you to an extent that it was a risky play, but as a Bengals homer, I wasn't just throwing darts at a board here. I've watched every minute of their preseason games, followed how they use AJ, the coverages he's seen, etc. Last week he was close to some huge plays (was held on 2 potential TDs) and also was hurt by Joe Haden making a couple big-time plays breaking things up. Haden is quietly making a move into that Nnamdi/Revis group of CBs who can shut down an opposing team's #1. He is very, very good. I'd also point out that part of the prediction was based on Champ Bailey being out and a bit of research into how weak Denver's backup CBs are. This season, I see AJ Green as a 5 catch per game guy and I think he ends up with 75-80, 1,000 yards, 7-9 TDs (the same prediction I've been making since August). Last week's below average performance was somewhat expected facing Joe Haden (and having some bad luck). This week's above average performance was also expected because he was facing a pretty weak, inexperienced CB.I'd throw the rookie stuff out the window. Set his average weekly projection at 5-65-0.5 and adjust up or down based on matchup. He looked like just a rookie in game 1 which is what I was basing my opinion on. :whoosh:Thought the sarcasm was laid on pretty thick there...4 targets week 114 targets week 2 fwiw.Joe SummerIn fairness, did you bother to read any of his other comments? In fairness, he could just be saying he was unaware that people picked AJ high showing how ill-informed he is?I had no idea that so many people spent high-round picks on A.J. Green.![]()

It took you longer to find and post that link than to say
"wow, I was wrong there"
There is a lot of wrong going on in the bolded MoP.AJ Green sure seems like the goods. Cle and Indy couldn't cover him, Miami up next and they have major issues in their secondary...the kid has a ton of talent and even with a rookie chucking it you have to be honest about what you see. He is a rookie but I wish he were on my team right now...might not always be consistent but he gains big chunks of yards. Can't say enough nice things about him right now.
Not against Indy.good point - Haden had him on lockdown in Week 1 . . .still, the guy blew up on Sunday . . .
