You certainly could do worse The kid is the genuine article. One good sign, even with it being a questionable Denver team, was that the Bengals basically abandoned the run when they fell behind by 2 scores and the offense actually played better. Dalton's long throws are pretty scattershot (hopefully he can improve) but his middle and short throws have been very accurate. Green has a knack for getting open and Dalton has no problem turning to him, obviously. There will be rougher weeks, of course, as with any rookie but he's definitely option 1 in that passing game (Gresham is 1a).

Ya I agree with 14 targets, that was awesome. He does remind me of a young Moss, that Td was sick how he got both feet in bounds in the corner. Nice body control, superior athlete, with great route running/hands. After Charles went down I need Green to be a ppr beast for me to contend.
He's a terrific young wr with top 5 talent. He'll have his bumps and bruises and I think he's a matchup play at this point. I'd look to play him as a WRBC until he proves otherwise.
I think AJ Green is a must start if you start 3WRs. He's the type of WR3 that you want.....lots of talent with potential for that big game, while having to accept a few clunkers when Dalton struggles. In start 2 WR leagues, then he becomes a situational start when the matchup is right.

Not to mention, CIN has a decent schedule. With Austin down for me, he is in for the time he is out.Next up SF, BUF, @JAX, IND. WOW that looks promising!!!

not for me Im a J. Charles owner and I start 3 rb/2wr and have Mwallace and AJ Green, Hoping he pans out like he should. Best, mcgahee and Ingram rounded out by Brees. Team was really solid with Charles but will have to make due. Hope to catch a few breaks. Julio, jacoby ford and lance moore are on my bench. 12 team ppr. start 3/2 or 2/3 rb/wr
I think he slots out as a WR2. Bad team, soft schedule, likely playing from behind most weeks, but having a rookie like Dalton is a minus, although perhaps with both of them being rookies, there might be a connection of sorts there... a veteran QB might be less likely to target him as often as Dalton might. He'll have his down weeks as all WR's tend to have, but I do think he'll finish in the top 30, with a good shot at being a top 20 WR this year.
It will be interesting to see which does better in their rookie year, the Falcon rookie on a good team playing in an offense that has other weapons, or the Bengal rookie on a bad one.
Julio Jones is not even in the same category. Green is one of those born-to-be-wr and there is not a lot of those kind in the NFL. Those who pick Jones instead of Green made a big mistake
The great thing here is that Cincinatti will be trailing alot this season, so expect alot of garbage time yards and TD's for Green. It's amazing, for fantasy purposes you actually want the team to suck and have to pass alot in the 2nd half of games to pile on the passing stats.
My dynasty league lineup requirements are 2RB/2WR/1TE + 1 flex RB/WR/TE. In the first week I had AJ Green as my 3rd WR in the flex slot. In week #2 I had benched as I went with 3 RB and only 2 WR's. But given that one of my runningbacks has gone down to a season ending injury (Jamal Charles), I expect that AJ Green will become an every week starter in the flex slot for my team.

That's an interesting opinion.I don't own either one, but I remember the splash they made together in the SEC back in 2008 as freshmen. Both were top ten high school recruits. They were both big stars for three years. Both were top six draft picks this spring. This has been a great debate for years, and here you are proclaiming it's over (and it's not even close). Let's consider some measurables:
WR A) 6-foot-2 3/4 and 220 pounds
40-yard dash time 4.39
11-3 broad jump (two inches away from the combine record)
38.5-inch vertical jump
OR
WR B) 6-3 5/8 and weighed 211 pounds
4.48 in the 40
10-6 broad jump
34.5-inch vertical jump
How about some stats?
WR A) 179 2653 14.8 15
OR
WR B) 166 2619 15.8 23
Comparable WRs:
WR A) - In high school, Sports Illustrated likened him to wide receiver Terrell Owens, saying he was, "a big, physical wideout with great strength, amazing jumping ability and uncanny speed for such a big player." ESPN.com compared to him to another NFL great, saying, "This guy is a unique, rare prospect for the wide receiver position with his supreme blend of size, power, speed and agility. He reminds us of a high school version of Michael Irvin, but at this stage is more explosive and faster."
WR B) - In June 2006, he was profiled by Sports Illustrated as part of its “Where Will They Be?” stories on potential future professional greats. Sports Illustrated compared him to the then-Oakland Raiders wideout Randy Moss and predicted will he be in the NFL by 2011.
I'm glad it's settled in your mind Phil4. I'd just like to point it's possible they'll both be pretty good. Green is already his team's WR1 since the Bungles dumped both their problem children, but Jones has a better QB and a WR & TE who won't allow teams to focus on him as much. It's going to be fun to watch these two - just as it has been for the last three years in the SEC.
WR A) is Julio Jones
WR B) is A.J. Green
FWIW, I think both are good WR3 options in 2011, but it's very, very rare for a rookie to have an impact season like a Colston or Boldin or Moss. I think it's more realistic to expect Calvin Johnson (48-756-4) type production for this year. Anything more is gravy.
