Ridiculous. Costanza isn't worthy to carry Archie's jock. And I think George has proven he can't carry a show on his own. Several times.

Costanza was a thinking man's favorite character. Not some buffoon that pummels you with slap-stick, lowbrow fart jokes for 30 minutes.

Yeah you may want to actually watch All in the Family. It was a groundbreaking comedy that dealt with taboo subjects. it didn't do fart jokes. And I was referring to the fact that Jason Alexander has been a huge failure trying to do his shtick on his own.Are you implying there was a George Costanza spin-off?

But I think there is a serious modern day bias.
There are some oldies that are being overlooked namely Barney Fife, Fonzie and Gilligan.
My personal favorite is Costanza, the writing for that character was unmatched.

I'm only 30, so I can't judge before my time... Bundy was my first and favorite - I grew up on both Bundy and Homer, I give the nod to Al, but understand people who say Homer.
There should be a poll for best character up though.
