All of you guys are right... I hate to admit it, but (1 Viewer)

We do not deserve to be in the playoffs.

We got lucky vs Atlanta because they are a good team but are very young and we only got the win because the rookie QB wasn't changing up his snap counts so we were in the backfield all day long. Turner and Norwood must have had bad cleats or something because they were trippin everywhere. I dont think the Cardinals defense knocked them down at all. Not a good performance at all, we were lucky to pull this one out.

In Carolina, I'm pretty sure we were down 28-0 before the game even started. Why did we even bother showing up? I mean, its simply impossible for a team that has struggled on the east coast to win vs a team that is undefeated at home. Delhomme played so bad, so terrible, he definitely lost the game for the Cats. The Cardinals didn't play good enough to win. The defense didn't show up and force Jake into those turnovers. I'm not sure how we pulled this one out.

Jim Johnsons defensive schemes are way too much for this offense to handle. McNabb cannot be stopped. That Cardinals fluke of an offense will be lucky to score a touchdown, maybe 2 if we were lucky. Edge is too old and/or slow to gain any important or useful yardage. It was a good run for us but I mean that Philly defense is just way to much to handle. We dont stand a chance. Eagles win this one 31-13... At least.
What jersey number do you wear? I want to root for you next Sunday.
You got that Bolding thing down man, that is pretty impressive. Anyways... while we're playing in the big one in a week, you can worry about who you guys should draft in April.
:goodposting: Good luck, man. Pittsburgh is tough. Make sure you get enough sleep before the big game!

What are you thinking? You gonna go o-line? Or maybe you grab that play-making wr. Got some tough decisions, my friend.

You'll still have ZERO titles after the game. Back TF up.

 Ok, thanks. Run along now. If it is ok, lets get back to football talk.I have a feeling that Ward and Boldin both have big games. Fitzgerald and Holmes will get their catches, but I think everyone is over looking these other two studs. They are pretty similar in style, and I see both QB's wanting to get the ball in these guys' hands. Anyone else have a feeling that Boldin makes a pass attempt in this game? In the beginning of the season, they were using him in the backfield and stuff, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see him chuck it deep to Larry.

in the new season(playoffs), the Cardinals have been impressive. they have beaten the Falcons, Panthers, and Eagles. i'm surprised the Cards are +7. i think they win the SB.
Then I'd liquidate my 401k and bet it all on the Cards money line if I were you. That will be a sweet, sweet return on your investment.
Considering the stock market right now, that's +EV.

Well fellas, first off, despite the game, I had a blast. While Tampa is not necessarily a place that I would go to on a summer vacation, it was a very fun place to travel to, to attend the big game. Lots of stuff going on throughout the whole city. We stayed at a place about a half hour away from downtown so we had to do some driving but it was all well worth it. Got there late Friday night so couldn't do too much until Saturday. But Saturday was a blast. Went to the lobby of the Mariott to hang out Saturday afternoon, where many former athletes and such stayed. Got a few pictures with guys like Ditka, Pat Riley, and Rod Woodson (We actually happened to be in this other hotel lobby with maybe 3 other people when Woodson was being followed by NFL Network right after he got announced for the HOF, so we followed him around for a while). A bunch of autographs from some other guys like Roger Craig and such... Got some AMAZING seafood on Saturday night at a placed called Fresco's (I think thats what it was called) over in St. Pete's.

Anyways, as you know, there were Steeler fans Everywhere. And I am not exaggerating. Some of the fans were pricks and some were gracious, but its like that no matter where you are. But then again, I'd probably consider myself a ##### of a fan if I saw how much #### I talked and how I acted from someone elses view, but thats niether here nor there. It had to be a 10/12 to 1 ratio. Everywhere we went we were getting razzed and such but that only makes the experience better. Raymond James is a pretty sweet stadium, and seeing the pirate ship up-close was a pretty cool thing also. Sitting in the upper deck and feeling the stadium shake when the Steeler fans went nuts was crazy.

I don't know why I felt like writing a diary entry to you guys, but you got it anyway.

Now to the game. I wont go too deep since you guys have probably discussed everything in the past few days. But here are just some scattered thoughts.

As easy it would be to jump all over the officials, I won't do that. All props to the Steelers, they deserved it and made all the big plays when it counted. There were obviously some calls that could have gone differently etc, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the outcome of the game would have changed. The Rebirds had opportunities to win this game and they just couldn't do it. The whole game was just so emotionally draining. Up and down, celebrate and boo, everything. Props to the Steelers D but the Cardinals did put up 23 points and were one bad decision away from putting up 30 or so. Roethlisberger (sp?) is just a beast. Dude is a linebacker playing the QB position. Warner should make the HOF. Big Ben should be on his way also. Fitzgerald is simply incredible (did you see that 2nd gear? Wow.). A great offense should beat a great defense. I don't think Edge will be back and have a bad feeling that Boldin won't be either. To even think about sniffing what they did this year, Kurt, Dansby, Dockett are must keeps. Give Kurt and Dansby the big money that they will want and upgrade Docketts contract. I also think that the Cards offense will take a hit if/when Haley heads out to KC. Him and Kurt just find ways to get the play-makers the ball. Cromartie did have a tough game but I do think he will be one of the top corners in a year or two. All corners have their ups and downs, but I really think this kid will put it all together.

I do think the Cards will look to get the scat back type running back to pair up with Hightower but not sure they will do it in the first round (a lot of people mocking that they will pick the Pitt rb, Mccoy). I think they will sit on it and try to find one in the later rounds like they did last year. If Warner does happen to leave, I feel decently comfortable with Leinart at QB and dont ask why. He has to have picked up a few tips from Warner, no? I feel like he just has to be better by default. Corner will also probably be a issue looked at in FA or draft. DRC is the #1 guy, and while Hood is a decent #2, he is just a little too inconsistant. If they find a solid second corner, a defensive backfield of DRC,Wilson, Rolle and that other guy could be real solid for quite a few years.

But anyways, this has dragged on too long. Was a great year for us out here in AZ. Not looking for sympathy or congrats, just letting out my thoughts. Sorry to those of you that were annoyed by my Cardinal antics this year, but it was a rare opportunity to let it hang. Hopefully we keep this core together and come out strong next year. Helluva season Redbirds. I can't believe I'm going to have to watch the ####### Diamondbacks now. ####.

I'm the one who told you it doesn't really matter unless you win the big game, and I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. It sounds like you're genuinely taking some positives out of it and I'm happy that you can. I believe what I said but I do feel for you. AZ fans are long-suffering.

Also, I live in Tampa. It was at least 20-to-1 in favor of Pittsburgh, but I didn't find Steeler fans to be unusually obnoxious; just more present. Glad you had fun in our city.

By the way, I have to ask: Would it be easier to take if you had been blown out, or is getting THAT close to a win tougher? I mean, forget the respect angle. Just as a fan after the game, which would have been easier to accept?

Thankx for the homer insites. It's a royal year when your team did what these guys managed to accomplish this year....getting to the show is only exceeded by winning it. As a DEN fan, I never thought they would ever get over the hump. You gotta reconcile yourself to getting there in bite sized chunks, one failure at a time. Heck: DEN lost to WAS something like 56-21 and I thought that the sun was never going to shine again.....so don't worry about your team. They lit it up!

And don't be hanging your head. That was a marvelous game that was lost only because ARI scored to quickly in the end....leaving 3:30 on the clock just temped the Devil.

Your team is for real. Hard not to root for the Cards. The Steelers might be Super Bowl champs but your team made these playoffs exciting and worth watching. Here's to hoping that Boldin remains happy and Leinart pans out.

At least you don't have to watch the Pittsburgh Pirates....... :goodposting:

By the way, I have to ask: Would it be easier to take if you had been blown out, or is getting THAT close to a win tougher? I mean, forget the respect angle. Just as a fan after the game, which would have been easier to accept?
I was thinking about that on the plane ride home, and I definitely would want to lose a close one. On the Steelers first drive when they shredded the AZ defense and Ward caught a 30 yard pass or whatever, I was pretty nervous and started to fall into the thoughts of many other people of how the Steelers just might dominate the whole game. As a fan, that would have been so demoralizing to think that you are one of the top teams and just get decimated by another top team. But the way we fought back, stayed composed, and took the lead with 2 minutes left was a pretty cool thing to see. So many thoughts were running through my head of how bad we had been for so many years, all those days of sitting on the piece of #### bleachers at ASU's stadium were finally paying off. Although we came up short and as disappointing as it is, it was still a pretty solid season. But yeah, I'd definitely want to lose a close game like it was.

I'd much rather lose a close game than get blown outIf Warner is back you guy oVVn the west next seasonI was surprised Whisenhunt didn't take the ball & put his O on the field at the start

Yeah, deffering has been something the Cards have done multiple times this season. I think they only have chosen to receive the ball 2 or so times. I'm not sure why... Maybe so they can make adjusments and get a quick score early in the 2nd half? Who knows? But it was something they did more times than not. Something I thought they would do was some no huddle offense in the mid 2nd or 3rd quarter. I thought Warner would have been able to catch the Steelers off guard with some hurry up but they just never got around to it, I guess.

That's cool. I guess I'd tend to second-guess the little things in a close loss. If an illegal block in the back had been called on the runback at the end of the first half...would the Cards be SB champs? I mean, they're always going to be that team that lost to the Steelers as they got their sixth Super Bowl. Were they that close to being champions themselves? All that work, all those plays, to see it go away on something like that? Or giving up that pass to Holmes that set up the score. I know it's more complicated than one play with a half to still go. I'm just saying how I'd think about it after the fact.Like I said, I see your point. I think I'd almost rather get blown out and know that you weren't the better team that day than wonder what little thing here or there could have made the difference. You know poor Scott Norwood thinks about that kick every single day, and will until the day he dies.
