All this talk of unloading CAR RB's due to SOS... (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to work out a deal to send D. Williams for Chris Johnson.
I've got both D.Will and J.Stew and have been playing them both together (Stew at Flex) pretty much the whole year since (a) they have both been productive and (b) you never know who is going to get the TDs.This Sunday vs. Saints is going to be an acid test, however. It will test all three major issues being discussed:(1) Game planning. Will Fox abandon the run even if CAR gets behind? (I'm assuming they've finally learned their lesson and realize they are ONLY a running team)(2) Delhomme. Will he avoid stupid turnovers against an aggressive defense?(3) NO defense is good, but not great IMO. It will just generally be a good test of the SOS theory. On the trade front, the only thing I would consider right now for him would be the above CJ trade, AP, MJD or Ray Rice+.

Seeing Williams' playoff schedule against Johnson's and it's a no brainer IMO.Also trying to trade K. Smith (who has an atrocious playoff schedule) for R. Mendenhall who has slightly better matchups, esp. Wk 14 @ CLE.

On No. 1, that happens to a lot of teams vs the Saints, but I think Jake's limited and Fox knows that. He will stick with the run I bet.2. - I think Jake finally gets his due in the Dome (where he's undefeated, even as a Saint); the man from Breaux Bridge finally gets crushed in the Dome.

3. The run defense was near-great.... but then Ellis got hurt. Hargrove is a great pass rusher but I think the Saints are now vulnerable to the run up the middle as Turner showed, at least til Sed gets back.

Williams is a hold honestly and I know that's a change from what I've previously thought. One game CAN completely change things and the Cards game did that for me. It's not necessarily about Williams and his 152 yards honestly though........for me it's about the Panthers themselves as a team. The Cards were supposedly supposed to have one of the leagues best run defenses?? Yea.......apparently DW and Stewart didn't get that memo. The team as a whole is playing better and that will be huge. Their O-Line was playing with some attitude and making holes that just weren;t there the beginning of the season. s long as Delhomme doesn;t self destruct (still possible) Williams is a hold for sure.MY big concern as I stated when I felt the SOS said "sell" was how bad the Panthers had been playing as a team compared to last year. That's changed quite a bit on the last couple weeks honestly............
:bag: I completely agree. I was on record earlier in this thread as saying he's a sell. And I still believe he was, had the Panthers running game continued to struggle. But something has changed just within the last couple of weeks. They look like 2008 again. Screw SOS now...HOLD.
