All-time cereal draft (1 Viewer)

Well, nostalgia beats out practicality for my final pick. With the final pick in the draft, I select: Smurfberry CrunchHad a couple other ideas. Some derivative of cereals already taken, some healthier, but with less cultural context...but I went with one that resonated for me personally. Born in 1970, the Smurfs were part of my childhood and their cereal definitely part of my breakfast routine.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
See what happens when you slow play your cereal..

This is truly sad....funny as hell but sad..

For my final pick, I'm going with another childhood favorite. I've filled my roster with the stud RBs, the chocolate, the fruity, the healthy choice, the nostalgic... now it's time for the 'one-of-a-kind' pick... the only grape flavored cereal I've ever seen/tasted.10.03 Sir GrapefellowBonus: ALWAYS had really cool toys/prizes in the box
HOLY ####!!!! i had completely forgot about this cereal! and i LOVED it! i wonder what useless fantasy football triva pushed Sir Grapefellow right out of my head.MAJOR props to Keerock for this 10th round GEM!

Never heard of it, but I dig the mascot.

:bs: you are wrong. cheerios and rice krispies are fine picks...1st round material for sure. but 1-2 in an All-time cereal draft. nuh-uh.
Who can you justify going before either of those?
like i said...both are first-rounders, but your claim no other cereal merits consideration in the top 2 is just not right.possible top 2 selections (not even necessarily mine, but worthy of consideration in an ALL-TIME cereal draft):lucky charmsfrosted flakesfruit loopscap'n crunchapple jackspebbles (either)trixwheatiescorn flakessugar smackssugar crispi'll stop there, but i'm sure you get my point. if everyone went with a consensus, there wouldnt be much reason to vote, now would there? and where would said consensus come from?

Sir Grapefellow General Mills "Tally-ho". Sir Grapefellow (1972) is a World War One flying ace who flew for his "grape flavored oat cereal with sweet grape starbits (marshmallows)". purple milk rocks! i'm guessing you are too young to remember. :bag:Edit: SORRY! hit reply on the wrong post. :bag: :bag:

possible top 2 selections (not even necessarily mine, but worthy of consideration in an ALL-TIME cereal draft):

lucky charms

frosted flakes

fruit loops

cap'n crunch

apple jacks

pebbles (either)

trix

wheaties

corn flakes

sugar smacks

sugar crisp

i'll stop there, but i'm sure you get my point. if everyone went with a consensus, there wouldnt be much reason to vote, now would there? and where would said consensus come from?
lucky charms
Maybe top 10, but no way top 2.

frosted flakes
I can see the argument, but Corn Flakes should go higher. After all, without Corn Flakes, there are no Frosted Flakes.

fruit loops
First round yes, reach for top two.

cap'n crunch
No way this is top two.

apple jacks
See Froot Loops.

pebbles (either)
See Cap'n Crunch.

This is not a first rounder IMO.

Wheaties could be a consideration but Corn Flakes has to go ahead of them.

corn flakes
A lot of cerials are derived from it. I think it's top 3 for sure.

sugar smacks
Now you're reaching.

sugar crisp
This is a fifth round selection.

Holy crap! Smurfberry Crunch! I want some now! We're going to have to start up a petition to the cereal companies to bring back classics like these, if only for a limited time.Anyway, wise choice.

I've been contemplating how to set up the poll(s) for this. I don't want to just do one poll with all 10 teams, I'd like to go about three rounds. How do I set this up with 10 teams?I could go 1 vs. 2, 3 vs. 4, etc., and have the 5 winners plus 3 top vote-receiving losers for 8 teams, then go head-to-head to final 4 then championship.Or I could put all 10 in a poll, where top 5 move to next round, then top 2 from next poll would advance to championship.Any other suggestions?
Maybe instead of going team vs team, we do a bracket of cereals. Give point values to how far each one goes. Add 'em up for each team and take the winner from that.

Drafting Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Golden Grahams back to back is like taking Peyton Manning and Culpepper in the first two rounds.

Seems the board is divided into two camps on the Smurfberry Crunch...
i would be in the i-have-never-eaten-anything-smurf-related-in-my-life camp...but i really liked your Jean LaFoote pick! that was stellar! and 9th round? PLEASE!

There is no doubt in my mind. Freakies was the absolute steal of the draft.

edit to add: The "Free Freaky Inside" seals the deal.

With Smurfberry Crunch taken, I'm on tilt. I've got about 5-6 cereals I'm considering now although I had previously narrowed it down to 1 in case SBC had been taken. Don't want to blow it here in the last round.Cereal draft anxiety at an all-time high.
