***** ALL-TIME NBA/ABA DRAFT ***** (Scoobus is Champion!) (2 Viewers)

16.03, Marques Johnson, SF, 70s

BR says he played a little SG too, but seems like he was more of a SF, so as to not overlap with English we’ll stick him in the 70s where he had 2 of his 3 all-nba seasons. 5x all-star who averaged over 25 ppg in the 78 season. The original M.J.
He gone - went 8.09.  Oh no oh no oh no oh no.

Gone 8 rounds ago I believe.

Taken -- 8th round, 9th pick.

:lmao:   I had him as my 101st ranked player overall.
Reminds me of our fantasy draft two years ago. One of our friends who is a great guy but he’s not so great with fantasy came to the draft a little drunk. By draft time after we grilled and ate and drank more, he was wasted. He was a late first round pick maybe 9 or 10. Took Michael Thomas. Not sure who he took in the 2nd. When he was up in the 3rd, he stands up and calls attention to everyone. He drunkenly lectures us about stupid we are, how we just let him assemble an unbeatable team and that we obviously don’t know #### about fantasy football. He announces his third round of Ezekiel Elliott. We all are dying because obviously Zeke went in the first 3 picks of the draft. He couldn’t have even taken Zeke in round 1. Then we questioned why he if he thought Zeke was there that he passed him over in round 2. Man I love those in person drafts.

We had a similar situation but it was much worse than what happened for you.  Our draft is long (12 teams for 25 rounds).  By the time the draft is over there is virtually nobody worth anything available.  Our rule is the first time you try and pick someone already drafted it's a freebie.  All subsequent times after that you lose the pick.  We had a guy draft Jeff Blake in like the 8th or 9th round.  He then tried to take him again 4 rounds later for his "freebie".   Then two rounds after that he tried to take him again and lost his pick.  He really wanted to make sure he had Jeff Blake.  He drafted him three times.

He was 121st overall pick if my ability to use excel is decent.
You guys use a list? Shiiit, that's probably why my teams suck so bad. But, I could pull together a mean all-white post merger team. They'd get crushed on defense, but they would be fun offensively.

PG: Steve Nash

SG: Jeff Hornacek

SF: JJ Redick

PF: Nikola Jokic

😄 Bill Walton

6th: Rik Smits

Can’t blame him for wanting the superstar that was Jeff Blake

Meeting’s over, back to the real work. Yo Mama selected:

15.16 Baron Davis, 00s PG

Exciting, powerful, tenacious, attacking, relentless. Baron was such a fun player to watch and root for (from high school to UCLA to the pros).  He always wound up on my fantasy teams too with mister production of 20/4/8 with 2 steals and 2 threes per game. Led the league in steals twice.

Career - 16.1 pts, 3.8 reb, 7.2 ast, 1.8 stl

Peak (9 years) - 19.8 pts, 4.3 reb, 7.9 ast, 2.1 stl

1x all nba

2x all star

For a second, I thought "isn't he gone already, wait we aren't at the turn yet" and I thought you were pulling the ever so rare "jayrod-scoobus".

Well it might be a "Jeff Blake" (see above) as he already has Baron Davis on his roster and tried to draft him again.

Yo Mama also selected:

16.01 - Paul Silas, 70s PF

The original grit and grind PF.  Stud defender and rebounder.  Taken in the 10th round last time. Plus he can step in as interim coach when my head coach gets fired (related to another Sprewell incident).  Who’s getting a rebound against my Silas/Malone 70s front court?

Career - 9.4 pts, 9.9 reb, 2.1 ast and just under1 steal (even though they only counted his last few years)

Peak (9 years) - 12.3 pts, 11.9 reb, 2.7 ast and a steal

3x champ

5x all defense

2x all star

My 70s team is giving my 10s squad a run for the money for my best in show entry.

PG - Tiny Archibald

SG - Gail Goodrich

SF - Yo Mama

PF - Paul Silas

C - Moses Malone

Nasty.

16.05: SG Michael Redd, 2000s

Need a reliable wing scorer that can put up points in bunches, so I'll take the man that made Ray Allen expendable. Redd still holds the Bucks' single-game scoring record of 57 pts. A 25-ppg guy during his peak with a reliable three-ball (38% career, best two seasons over 43%).

@Mister CIA

I like this pick. I spent like 3 rounds trying to decide if I could use him and McGrady and Billups before I settled back on Battier.

I am leaving shortly and am up after @Mister CIA anybody available for me to PM my pick(s)....preferably someone to the right of me so I can give you two picks to make sure I don't hold things up

With Toney, Aguirre, and Cummings providing offense on my 80s roster, I need a big man who can protect the basket.  Not many bigger than ...

16.06 - James Donaldson, C 80s

I’m thinking he left the window open when he left. I’ll wait another minute or two then make the pick.
His user page says last active was 30 minutes ago.  If he sent you a pick, go ahead and post it.

He isn't even showing at the bottom anymore under "recently browsing" either.

Don't applaud, just throw money.

16.08 Norm Van Lier – PG 70s

Pre-Jordan, “Stormin’ Norman” (also #23) was known for his legendary work ethic and became one of the most beloved players in the history of the Chicago Bulls.  He was ultra  aggressive, especially on defense.  His tenacity was unrivaled for the era and he was rewarded for that effort with 8 All-NBA defensive nods, 3 All-Star games, and an All-NBA selection.  He led the NBA in assist in 1971 and finished in the top 10/game for nine consecutive seasons (70-78).

Van Lier appeared in Barbershop and Barbershop 2.  :fro:
