***** ALL-TIME NBA/ABA DRAFT ***** (Scoobus is Champion!) (5 Viewers)

NM Hornacek got taken.
Give me Chocolate Thunder

Daryl Dawkins, C, 70s

And move Dampier to the 70s
LOVETRON, baby! The bad thing about taking Cowens as 70s center - and def not disrespecting him by sliding him to PF in his decade - is that i couldnt select one of my very favorite basketball players for my alltime team. i believe i've had a team named LOVETRON in each of the 20+ yrs i've played fbb. if he'd been even close to present in a human way, he might have passed Cowens.

You totally didn't mention how he was a soccer and track stud and got drafted in the 7th round as a favor to the local boy by the Boston Braves.  They didn't expect him to make the team and he started out as the 12th man on the team at forward.

Next thing you know, he's the NBA's new ironman and running guys like Oscar and Frazier ragged during games with his tireless motion.  I was super pumped to have him on my team.  :hot:
I was in a huge rush to draft him before the thieves came out to steal my pick. Not naming any names.

I don't even really know who this guy is, but i can thank my boy Zelmo for pointing him out to me

16.16  "Bullet Boy" Bob Boozer    SF

                 - had some up and down years, but had a few years in the 60s that he averaged in the 20s. Had high teens for almost all of it, so if we are going to be grading guys on longevity and consistency over course of their career. Was efficient and from the little i have seen, he somes like  good addition to my 60s team

bummed i missed out on some of my '83 Sixers, so going with another team i used to like to watch and play with in NBA games. Always liked the Pistons and Sixers games with the excitement and passion. Looked into this guy deeper and never realized he tore things up pretty good before he got to Detroit with Dallas:

17.1  Mark Aguirre    SF  80s

Career best stat line: 29.5 points, 6 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 52% FG (1983-84)

"Aguirre was the Mav’s leading scorer for consecutive seasons. It was only when he played alongside his childhood friend, Isiah Thomas, that he chose to sacrifice for the betterment of the team, and saw his scoring numbers dip."

Taken

The clock will be off soon, and I'll be on a road trip. So NO - you can't skip me. I'd be more lenient if there wasn't so much shenanigans going on recently. :hot:

crud, give me 10 minutes or so. was wondering how a guy like that stayed on. didn't see him when i checked the spreadsheet

So it looks like @timschochet timed out right before the clock expired. He was ready to pick an hour ago but was nice and waited for Modogg to repick.

@wikkidpissah you are up, but I’ll leave it up to you if you want to wait on Tim.

Clock is off for the weekend, but if anyone is going away for a long period, it’s nice to try to send a list to someone if you can.

17.03 Isaiah Thomas...........................Not a scoobus™....................... The LEPRECHAUN G 10s

Losing Norm Van Lier is making me paranoid. i was SURE i'd judged that right and was counting on him. So, even tho im probably 3+ round early, im grouping my Calvin Murphy pick with the only bettershorter player

Except for Bird/Magic and some Jordanigans, i've never enjoyed a basketball season like the one that ended with the Li'l Bastage of Ball literally leaving a part of himself on the floor in 2016/17. a pound-for-pound conversion would put it among the greatest individual sports season ever.

so i MUST have the Leprechaun for my first completed decade team:

wikkid's 2010s

PG - Isaiah Thomas

SG - Bradley Beal

SF - Gordon Hayward

PF - Ben Simmons

C - Karl-Anthony Towns

First and foremost, the bias against Bob McAdoo needs to stop. How do I know you are bias? Look at where he was drafted. This man won MVP but I am sure most of you remember the second half of his career as sidekick to Magic and Kareem. 11 straight years of 20+ ppg. 3 straight years of 30+ppg which also lead the NBA in ppg. This man was Kevin Durant long before the NBA even knew what to do with a Durant type.

If Bob MacAdoo had a cooler name I am certain he would be better remembered. If he had been born 10 years later the video TV coverage and highlights would have been better quality and he would have been better remembered.

So many contested 15 footers 10 seconds into the shot clock. So painful to watch. I watched like 3 minutes of a game starting at something like 18 minutes into the video. Also why did they show Marv Levy?

I think I put the wrong video lol but that was the game in the 70s. You aren't going to watch 70s hoops and see a bunch of spread the court deep shooters like 2020.

I have fixed the video but I guess the beers got me lol.

Hopefully Simmons can guard 5 positions at once... or maybe 4.5 - Hayward is fine. This team is going to put up some points though.
maybe. team will put up points if we are judging on a 7 game series. if we are judging based on a regular season run or even playoff run i'm betting Isaiah Thomas Jr. is out after a few games

The good news is that you and wikkid will agree that Ben Simmons can take a team 4 v 5, so it's fine. Give Thomas's hip some time to rest.
