We just signed a three year deal with Revs Academy that I have been working on for months. It's gonna be nice to step away from coaching and have the pros coaching our kids.
We have been doing things with them for years, but this is gonna take it to a new level. I'm exhausted but excited. I also closed on a house this afternoon and put another under contract so my next pick may be a little surprising.

"A large, physically strong, hard-working, and tenacious forward, who combined technical skill and creativity with power and goalscoring ability, Cantona is often regarded as having played a key role in the revival of Manchester United as a footballing force in the 1990s and he enjoys iconic status at the club. He wore the number 7 shirt at Manchester United with his trademark upturned collar. Cantona is affectionately nicknamed by Manchester United fans as "King Eric", and was voted as Manchester United's greatest ever player by Inside United magazine."
World Soccer Magazine rated him as the 24th greatest player of the 20th Century.
While Cantona has an impressive goal scoring record, his true value is his ability to bring others into play and orchestrate goals. Until this season, Cantona had the best games-per-assist ratio in Premier League history (a certain bug eyed fellow from Arsenal took the top spot this year).
Alex Ferguson was recently quoted as recognizing only 4 of the players who played under him as "World Class". C Ronaldo, Giggs, Scholes, and Cantona.

One of the most decorated Goalkeepers in the history of the game. He was the goalie for Brazil's victorious 1958 and 1962 World Cup squads and was between the bars for Santos as they won five Brazilian titles in the 1960's. Broadcaster and journalist Juca Kfouri called him "simply the greatest of all time". He will serve as my team's captain.

Universally hailed as the best South American goalkeeper of the 20th century, the elegantly athletic Gilmar would have been on any realistic shortlist to determine the greatest net-minder on the planet during the 1950s and '60s. Twice Gilmar reigned supreme and ever-present between his country's posts as they won the World Cup, in Sweden in 1958 and four years later in Chile. His hoard of major club honours was colossal, both at Santos in the 1960s, but also with his first employers, Corinthians.
Gilmar attracted global attention through his excellence in the 1958 World Cup finals after keeping clean sheets in Brazil's first four games of the tournament. One of the enduring images of the 1958 World Cup triumph was Pele breaking down in tears of joy on Gilmar's shoulder after the final.

Fits perfectly next to Sammer. Eephus paired Beckenbauer with Kohler, seems only natural for us to pair Sammer with Schwarzenbeck.
Schwarzenbeck is a member of the Bayern Munich hall of fame. From his bio:
"Every successful side needs unsung heroes like Hans-Georg Schwarzenbeck, an ultra-loyal servant who put in years of tireless effort on Bayern's behalf.
Hans-Georg Schwarzenbeck was that rarity among footballers, a loyalist who spent his entire career at one club. The player appeared for Bayern between 1966 and 1982, an unsung hero usually found in the long shadow thrown by his "boss" Franz Beckenbauer.
The tactics of the era called for a midfield ball-winner, and Schwarzenbeck was a shining example of the craft. The "Kaiser's Bodyguard" harried, tackled and hoofed clear whatever the opposition sent in the direction of the goal he was defending, a role never likely to earn stardom but which he carried out with tireless efficiency.
He made 416 Bundesliga appearances, 70 in Europe and earned 44 Germany caps. He scored a total of 21 goals as a professional. My team thus far
Platini and Xavi pulling the strings in midfield is pure magic. I cannot imagine the number of through balls and open space they create for Del Pierro and Zola. With so much trickery on offense, Zlatan may score 100 goals in this format. On the flanks, Junior and Bergomi will maraud down the sidelines, while Redondo effortlessly champions the midfield. In central defense, Pasarellla will marshal the backline while bombarding the goal from distance.

We turned off the clock for the weekend last week. I stupidly didn't address it this week, but I don't think it's fair to @Lehigh98 to time him out without clear notice that the clock would run over the weekend. Sorry. In truth, there's no way I can stay on top of a two hour clock this weekend anyway. Everyone is welcome to check in occasionally, and if he's up, to make a pick. But I'm not going to time any one out.

Hey guys, I've been enjoying watching this unfold so much that I'm going to ask if, after the draft is over, can I put together a team of undrafted players for pre-tournament friendlies to give you a chance to work out your lineups/get a peek at how the simulator is going to work? I'm nowhere near as knowledgeable as any of you but I do know there are personal favorites and players who have caught my eye over the years that I think are going to go unselected.
