Four seems to be the ideal in my friend group. They seem the happiest. Two is too few and too much work. 11 is insanity incarnate. But my 4 kid friends are the most well adjusted and happy. 

I'm very satisfied and happy with the decisions my wife and I made around having four.  I was pretty insistent that we stop at 4 though.  God bless you for handling 11 of them.
