Amazon Prime (1 Viewer)

I ordered something Wednesday night. Still hasn't shipped and says delivery estimate is Tuesday. It didn't say anything about a shipping delay when I ordered it.
Did you order 2 day or Super Saver/Prime No Rush?
It says 2 day. It was something that was OOS and then came back in stock. Said they had 12 available so I ordered. Maybe that's what caused the delay. It's preparing to ship now. I've had things miss the guaranteed date before but I've never had anything take this long to ship.
Got this today but now I have another one past it's delivery date. I guess that's what I get for choosing no rush shipping. Ordered on the 11th. Still not here.
Just watch one of their crappy free movies and you'll be all set.
Two minute chat to ask if I was going to get the order before Christmas and he extended my prime for a month without me asking. My son loves the Androids show.

Ordered something with next day shipping, didn't arrive next day. Chatted with CS and refunded my shipping cost and extended my Prime one month.

On the positive side, I had ordered a SlickDeal where by buying a gift card I was supposed to get a $20 Amazon Promo credit. The GC shipped, but I didn't get the promo email with the code. Since I was waiting to buy something for the code, I chatted with CS and explained the situation. They told me to place the order and they adjusted the price down $20. This was on Saturday night after 9PM and the product showed up Monday before 4PM, and that was with the regular Prime shipping. Crazy speed.

Oh, and then yesterday I got the email for the $20 promo....I almost feel bad using it. Almost.

Ordered the rest of my Christmas Saturday from Amazon. Went ahead and paid for one day shipping. Just didn't want to take the chance on Prime not getting it there in time.

One day shipping came through like a champ. Funny thing is I ordered 10 items and they showed up at my office in 8 different boxes, 6 from UPS and 2 from USPS.

i did the same thing . 2 not getting here on time :kicksrock:

Another thumbs-up to Amazon.

As you may or may not know I'm currently living in Argentina. My g/f's parents are coming to visit so we ordered some stuff from Amazon and sent the packages to her father's address in Puerto Rico. I ordered an awesome HP Envy 24 24-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor and a 2tb external drive (about $100). Electronics are crazy expensive here. The same drive would cost over $300 here.

So Amazon showed the monitor and drive as delivered last Wednesday. Although my g/f's father never received it. It was shown as signed for by a guard. His building does not have a guard. The building across the street does. So he went over there and yes, the guard's name on the proof of delivery from UPS is the guard from across the street. Yet there was no package. :bs:

So I chat with Amazon. Without any questions asked they sent replacements. Not only did they do that but they did one-day shipping at no extra cost. The only problem is that UPS did the same thing again and delivered it to the wrong address across the street. So g/f's father went back over there and come to find the guard just gave packages to someone who lived in the building who happened to have the same apartment number as my g/f's father. Even though that guys's name is not the same as my g/f's father. So g/f's father left his contact info and we crossed our fingers this guy would be honest and bring the packages back to the guard so g/f's father could pick them up. The guy did that today but only the replacement shipment. The SOB kept the first shipment.

I hope they can track this stuff down so people don't just get away with keeping stuff which aren't there's because of a delivery mistake. Pisses me off.

Just for parity - I ordered 10 things in the last week over three days. Five things on the first day arrived in two days (the 21st), then 3 more things on the 21st they arrived on the 23rd. Finally ordered 2 more things on the 22nd and they are projected to be here on the 26th.

Pretty solid imo.

I'd say give them a call and ask if you can use it given the situation; they'll probably say yes then you can use it with a clear conscience.

Ordered something with one day on the 22nd...said it'd be here by the 24th. Not here and the tracking number info puts it in Phoenix, AZ (I'm on the East Coast) with an estimated date of delivery as Dec. 30. I want to like you Amazon.....but you really pooped the bed on this one. If you couldn't get it to me in a day....then don't offer it.

Correction. Now 1 appears stuck with fedex.
FedEx is friggin' horrible. I don't genuinely hate many things, but FedEx is one of them. :hot:
Not an Amazon package but I got something FedEx today. It had to be signed for and I wasn't home so the driver got my neighbor to sign for it and then called my cell and left me a message saying who he had left it with. Big fan of this guy to say the least.

As a Prime member, if I buy a new CD or book directly from Amazon, am I entitled to digital copies as well at no additional charge? Does it appear automatically or must I do something to get it?

It will depend on the publisher but in many cases, yes, you will get the digital copy as part of your library when you buy the physical one. Music more than books typically

If there's a tracking # that means it shipped and your blame really belongs on the carrier. Amazon will still stand by it though.

Is there a way to tell whether or not it happens before the purchase. I'd gladly spend the extra few dollars for the physical media to have both

thanks for the specificity.

Okay I bought this CD yesterday

Now I want to listen to the mp3 on my computer.

It is not showing in my music library, even though it says "Complete your purchase to save the MP3 version to your music library."

How do I get it to do that? The purchase was consummated about 24 hours ago.

They re-imbursed the shipping. Would have been nice to get a % off the product.....but I didn't ask and wasn't going to make a deal of it.

2.5 year old kindle won't charge anymore. Buck up and get myself a new one? Should I be shopping other tablets?

FWIW I took it apart and looked at the charging connections (seemed ok)...I suppose it just could be the battery too.

Charging port on Kindles have been a major issue. My son is on his 3rd one (first they fixed once and when it broke again they replaced for free, second one was way out of warranty but they gave us $50 credit toward a new one.)

Prime delivery back to amazing. Getting my "two day" shipments in one day when coming out of the Las Vegas fullfillment center, living in Texas.

Calling kindle support is key.

I feel like that number is somewhat misleading, since they don't mention how many of those were using the free trial they offered.
More like my wording is misleading. All they'll say is 10M new people tried it. Certainly all of those won't keep it but I'm certain quite a few will. Analysts say membership is growing rapidly.

My plan was to buy a new soldering iron and go to town. No good? :)

Good plan. Then once you destroy it you can buy a new one. ;)

Already bought the new one. ;)

I took it apart once successfully, but the video I was watching showed that if you re-solder up the charge connection areas that sometimes it'll start charging again. Figure its worth a shot.

This is how the 1st Generation Fires die. Get a new HD 7 for $100. Pretty major improvements over the 1st gen.

Vegas is a returns center that gets put on the label. Chances are your stuff is either coming out of Dallas, Tennessee or Phoenix.

If you already have 2, why not swap out the battery to see if that's the problem, before you take a soldering iron to it?

I just bought a brand new one to replace the dead one. Wouldn't want to invalidate any warranty.

I got the 7 hdx...video and sound and such seem to be major upgrades....pretty cool. I use it mostly for reading, but my kid watches videos and plays games and stuff on it.
