Amazon Prime (2 Viewers)

$50 Fire Tablets? I might buy a 6 pack to cover each bathroom in the house and the kitchen.
Given that you can now download content onto the device, and that this version of the Fire comes with a micro SD card slot - I'm all in. Might even do that 6 pack idea and have Xmas gifts knocked out for the family.
I've never used any of these (apple lover  )... Can you put apps on the micro SD?
From the page of the SD card Amazon is pushing with these:

  • Download your apps and games directly to the SD card
The device has 8 GB built in, and you can add up to another 128 GB via the card. Hows the app library?
Yeah if it has Netflix and the Xfinity apps this is a no brainer IMO just for a streaming device.

I ordered one. I paid the $15 extra to not have ads on the screensaver. FirstWorldProblems and all, but my Ipad2 is really slow for basic browsing.

We got a new car last year and I decided not to get headrest DVDs since tablets were getting so cheap. Here's my chance to deliver on that promise.

Word of warning. Unless they improved the 6" it is pretty basic, heavy and slow. Great for kids, but not a great competitor even to the larger Fire's let alone an IPad

The device's page on Amazon did list Netflix. Not sure about xfinity (which I just found out about on my ios device - sweet!). It will obviously do Amazon prime streaming, and (thanks to a recent update) allow you to download shows to the device so you don't have to be "streaming" them.

It's only $50. It all it does it tell me when I got an e-mail, and allow me to stream Netflix and Amazon prime, I'm all over it.

Picked up a Kindle Fire and Fire TV stick in the last month to go with my Amazon Echo and Amazon Prime.

Decided I'm ready to be one of the first to be plugged into the BezosBot when it needs human batteries.
Ask him why Amazon Fire TV's are out of stock if you ever get in his ear! Wanted to buy a second recently, all retail out of stock, can only buy refurbished. Not the end of the world, but that slightly irks me, as I perceive Amazon to have inventory management squarely in the wheelhouse.
I noticed they were out of Kindle Paperwhites today as well. Kind of interesting.
screams product line refresh, IMO

I went to go buy the new Iron Maiden album that came out today. It's available for free with Prime. Got it downloaded on my phone right now. I thought the prime music was just for streaming, which doesn't really work for me, so this is awesome. I also didn't know they gave away new releases for free. :headbang:
Empire of the Clouds is a the ####. Love that tune

Yep. When I saw they had an 18 minute song on this record, I was pumped. Clocks in about 5 minutes longer than Mariner.

Just a first prime order not get here in the two day window for the first time. Not happy.

Thinking of ordering a 64GB Fire phone, as mine is dragging pretty bad. $149 new with a year of prime and unlocked so i can move it straight over to Cricket. Sounds like it's pretty easy to add Google Play and a launcher. Worth it?

Big fan of prime & amazon .My wife had one for 2 month & hated it so much I had to buy her a full price iPhone . She had calendar issues, phone would freeze & other wonky things. That said prime is $99 so you are buying an unlocked phone for $49.

If you were planning on being an Amazon Prime member it's pretty tough to see how the 32gb Fire Phone with a year of prime for $110 isn't a pretty good value....

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Certified-Amazon-Fire-Phone-32GB-4G-LTE-AT-T-unlocked-Smartphone-W-Prime/171943393248?hash=item28089ff7e0

... also comes with an unlock code so you don't have to use AT&T towers.

Really think Amazon made a big mistake here. Imagine for a second that when they bumped the yearly subscription to Prime to $99 if they also announced that it comes with a "FREE" Fire phone every two years of membership(that they also can push ads based on your shopping history) and worked free texting into the deal with a lucky carrier(probably Tmobile or Sprint)? Everyone would have rejoiced that this was a huge value add to the already popular Prime service even if there was a slight bump in price. They didn't make any $ on these "me too" phones anyway and ended up practically giving them away. What a shame.

So I almost NEVER return items, but I recently bought an item from Amazon (long time prime member) and want to return it.

The item is a logitech gaming keyboard. I've always had logitech peripherals and just ordered this thing without giving it too much thought (I stupidly just assumed it would be good and needed something to replace my old G15 after I spilled water on it). Turns out I hate the keyboard for several dorky gamer reasons (keys are mushy as hell and you basically have to put an obscene amount of pressure on the to keep them held down)

Again, since I just stupidly assumed that this thing would be a good purchase, I tossed all the packaging. I'd like to return it and get something else, but it looks like it was a 3rd party seller (not direct from Amazon).

Anyone have any experience with this situation? Are they gonna give me hard time if I ship this back in a sturdy box with some bubble wrap?

Not much help I know, but the only time I can remember returning to a third party the main difference was I had to pay for the return shipping. I had the original packaging.

I have returned things directly to amazon without the original packaging and they had no problem with it.

I would use the call me now option and talk to customer service vs email or other methods. I'd have ready the "I've ordered XX items in XX months and never had this happen" type info (not to be a #### but just conversational). It seems the more I've ordered in the last 6 months, the more accommodating they are. I just had an mess where I ordered a rental textbook for my daughter that was delivered to a wrong address by the carrier (and if its not returned we are on the hook for the full price). A call to customer service got the item replaced with next day shipping as she needed it right away. And, I asked and they obliged to send me an email, with CC to the seller that we will in no way be responsible for the return of the original textbook. No way this could have been done over email or IM.

If it was a Prime order (actually shipped from Amazon), the return process is the same. If it was shipped from the seller, you might end up dealing with them.

Another missed delivery. Can't really count on Amazon anymore. At least I'll never have to pay for prime since they give me a free month for every late order.

Got my first late delivery, kinda ticked b/c I'm leaving for a flight today and wanted to bring it with me. They extended my prime for a month.

I have received a few orders late also. This NEVER used to happen in the past. In my case I didn't really care because I had no need for the items in a certain amount of time, but when you are paying for prime and the 2 day shipping it sort of defeats the purpose. I use prime for the videos and kindle borrowing so I utilize that benefit as well, so not really irked about it. Does anyone know why they are having issues fulfilling the 2 day promise?

Most of the packages I get late are ones that are handed off to the post office for final delivery but they aren't given to the post office until mid-day on the day they should be delivered. Whenever I miss a shipment I do a quick chat saying that a package with a guaranteed delivery date hasn't arrived and ask them to check on it. They always come back and say it will be delivered that day (which I already know) and they will extend my Prime for one month. I don't even have to ask and it takes less than 5 minutes.

No Prime packages are handed off to the USPS for final delivery. The problem is a postal issue but not the problem you think

I'm not sure what you mean by no Prime packages are handed off to the USPS. I placed an order on 9/21 that contained two Prime items sold by Amazon. It was delivered 3 days later by the USPS. Maybe it was USPS the whole time so technically it wasn't handed off. And it's not a postal issue, it's an Amazon issue. They are the one's that I pay and guarantee the delivery date.

I have had Prime items delivered via USPS also. Some within the last week.

Im on Cricket so this works pretty well. Got one at 110 and 64GB at 150. Needed new phones and use prime a lot so this is a great deal for us. Thanks for the link.

Ask them to overnight another one to your hotel.

Honestly, the metrics say otherwise. There is no degradation on 2-day promise. In fact, it's the best it has ever been.

This isn't true.

Received a freaking heavy Lead Sled DFT rifle shooting rest today at almost 30% off retail, with free shipping. I am a happy camper!

I'd say 50% of my prime go to usps
Amazon would be bad negotiators if that was true. Think about the size and complexity of an engine that can give you one of (literally) millions of items in 2 days without you paying a dime. It's likely you as everyman can't walk 10 miles without spending something of value to get yourself there. USPS plays an important piece where they do something more completely than anyone in the history of mankind ( touch just about every damn door, every damn day) but that's only a small part of the costs that give you most everything you might want in 2 days. Really, when you come right down to it, the value of Prime can't really be quantified. You're not buying to pay for your shipping. Once you buy, you're plugged into everything there is to offer because what there is to offer is worth buying and it's worth it and everybody happy.. It's a cyclical/symbiotic But pretty sweet relationship for everyone. If it wasn't worth billions people might say it's down right Communist.
