Not sure how CJ is holding on so long. He's easily the worst remaining competitor. I would think this week will be his swan song.

I thought there were some pretty good performances.

I don't know why no one seems to like Sam, I think he's pretty good. I liked Jena's performance too.

Also don't think Alex is as great as everyone else does. Caleb's alright, but his (one and only) act has worn thin with me.

What was the criticism on CJ?? I thought he was great. My only thought during the show was the same thing McGarnicle said, the producers just want other people brought along.

ETA: Just get rid of Dexter already. There is not one thing that distinguishes him from 10,000 karioke country singers out there every weekend.

That Sam kid seems young, dumb AND boring; the holy trinity of no gracias. Let him sing commercial jingles for... ugh. No. Not even that.

Alex is the most interesting of the people there- but either you like the quirky music-maker type of songs or not. This poster above doesn't apparently.

CJ? I like the sound of his voice and I appreciate how much of his (likable) personality comes through his performances- but the kid hasn't sung a single note in tune. He had the one week where he sang a song that he's been singing for years with his band- that was great. everything else has been just brutally out of tune. he has no business being in the business.

I think I like Jena the best. Good voice, good performer. My only gripe is sometimes her enunciations bother me...but she's made good song choices pretty much every week. I didn't like her Bring Me To Life as much as the judges did, but Amy Lee is a tall order and she did pretty good.

Sam finally did really well last night. I thought Sam, Alex and Jena were the best last night. Love that song that Alex sings, listen to it often from youtube.

Will be interesting to see Caleb sing his ballad, looking forward to it. Thought Dexter did well last night also, and I've been tired of him for awhile.

I just don't get the Malaya love. She sounds like she's shouting more than screaming, and not a fan of Jessica.

CJ sang well, and sounded good, but so did everyone else, although it was a touching song so he might get a few more votes based on that.

I'd guess the bottom 3 were Malaya, CJ and Jessica.

Sam still is just so boring and generic.

There is nothing compelling about him as a performer and singer.

Good voice...and a look the young chicks dig. But thats it...zero real personality in his performances or singing.

Im with you on Malaya...she has gotten better, which pisses me off. But she does shout a lot and there is a whiny tone to those bigger notes that is awful to my ears. And she really has a look that makes me never want to actually watch her perform.

Jessica is awful too...not a fan at all.

I agree with pretty much all of this. Sam would have killed it in a few years. I'm guessing his ceiling is around 4th this season, can't seem him beating Caleb, Jena, or Alex. It wouldn't surprise me if he outlasted CJ, Malaya, Jessica, or Dexter. How Caleb does on his ballad will be the deciding factor for me, after about 20 seconds of his song last night I took the dog out, all his songs sound the same to me.

Jena looked offended when Harry told her he thought she had a speech impediment.

I thought last night was Jessica's best performance by far, and I liked Jena and Malaya as well. Caleb was good but I HATED the arrangement of the song. Alex was good but not as good asI thought he'd be with his original, I liked it better in his audition. CJ is starting to annoy me, I think its his expressions when he sings. Still can't stand Sam, and I see him in the local news all the time because he's local here.

Dexter should go next but he probably won't because of the country vote

Harry is a great addition. His feedback is one of the better parts of the show, I miss Jimmy Ivene as well. He gave honest feedback and I agreed with him quite often.

Is This Love would be perfect. He reminds me of David Coverdale big time and has that good of a rock voice.

Butcher those tunes? He will eat those for breakfast. He is one of the best pure rock voices I have heard in a long time. Total throw back to arena rock….huge voice….huge personality.

Kid has what it takes to be a rock star……not pop star……rock star.

Well after weeks and weeks of crap, the last two weeks have finally been solid. And I thought last night was easily the best week overall so far. I thought everyone sounded pretty good.

Jessica was the best of the night. Her original song was great, and so was the duet.

ETA: I disagree about Jena. She sang great, but I hated the arrangement.

They showed some live voting counting two nights ago and Sam was 1st in the under 21 crowd, but last by quite a bit in the over 21 crowd.

Few thoughts...

Had Jena done that song, with that arrangement while at the Piano...she would have downright stolen the show. I thought it was very good.

Caleb is a one trick pony...but he is great that trick. I find it funny at times that the judges say things about someone not knowing who they are as an artist...but you have guy that knows who he is and they want to make him try doing something different. Sure, a power ballad is fine...but why anything real different than what he has done. That is who he is and what he will be. A front man to a band. He is not going to be doing Jackson 5 medleys.

Alex is good...but something about him makes him hard to watch. But muscially I dig his stuff more than any other contestant.

Jessica flat out sucks and needs to go. I just don't like anything she does.

If you close your eyes, I thought this duet was good. If you watch the two of them on stage, Jessica looked out of place.

If you pause the performance on the last note you can compare the two. Caleb's face is full of intensity and passion, while Jessica has a big smile while saying "stop draggin my heart around" that just seemed like she didn't know what she was doing.
