My main issue with her is if she's not wearing some sort of elaborate period costume then you overlook the fact that she simply has no acting talent. American Hustle did little to change that for me.

That's sort of true, but a stretch. She was working at a Hooters, but that's not where she was "discovered." She was working as a dancer at some dinner theatre place, and was "discovered" by someone who worked for a bigger better dinner theatre in Minnesota. She then got her first bigger break in a movie being filmed in Minneapolis.

I don't actually know that much about her, that's from IMDB (I only looked it up because being from MN I remember some locals claiming her as one of "our own" because she worked at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre).
