I have no love for the Patriots and was happy to see them beat, but this whole shtick by Miami fans is really sad.

And we don't care what you think.Based on the last 30 years of this squad, including the Marino days, it's all we've got. For those of us who actually remember it, we have every right to continue to celebrate it.Today only proves how special it is.

you summed it up Marc. i'll be up all night. somehow the sting of watching welker run all over everybody after we traded him has lessened a little and now i'm ready for our off-season. maybe i should head over to shula's and see if i can score some free drinks. everyone over there must getting tanked right now!

Amen.I was born in Miami in 1968. My dad watched and rooted for the Dolphins in '72. The '72 team and obnoxious fans are an embarrassment to all real fans and Joe Robbie and the heart of the organization.
 
I usually do not wish bodily harm unto others, but I would not mind if Nick Buonoconti lost one of his eyes in a champagne cork accident.

The '72 team is an embarrassment? Turn in your fan card. Mercury Morris is obnoxious. Most of the rest of the team is classy as heck. Shula is an embarrassment? Griese? Buoniconti (who works with quadripalegics)?Are you goofy or just a hater?
 
I read something from one of the old '72 Dolphins that blamed the media for everyone hating them and thinking they glibly cheer for other teams to fail. I agree with him.

As long as nobody ever has to hear about it for any reason, let them celebrate. Whoever said tonight proves how special that achievement was was right on the money.

 
I can deal with M. Morris, I couldn't deal with listening to the cheaters talk about 19-0, it would have been unbearable.

 
As a Dolphins fan, let me say that I know somebody is going to go undefeated.

That doesn't mean it needs to be this smarmy, cheating, unnatural BB-led Patriots team.

What I love about this more than anything is that BB only has himself to blame. If his ego wasn't crowding out the oxygen supply for everyone in the stadium, maybe he would have thought about kicking the field goal instead of making that oh so solid call to go for it on 4th and 13.

You're darn right I'm celebrating right now. If say the Packers go 19 and 0 next year, more power to them.

 
The 2007 Pats are now added to the scrapheap of past Super Bowl LOSERS! So much for the undefeated season, greatest team ever, greatest QB ever coronation that they received before they even played a down.

What about Belicheat walking off the field with 1 second on the clock? Totally classless!

Don't get me wrong, I hate the Patriots and am happy as can be that they lost. But the '72 Dolphins played...what 3 winning teams all season? Hard to call that the best team ever.

What more can a team do than play the schedule handed to it? At the same time, I can at least partially grant your premise. The 1972 Dolphins get their ticket punched into the final round in that conversation due to record. If they went 16-1 due to a regular season loss, they might not make the conversation. Teams like the 85 Bears and the 91 Redskins make the conversation in other ways. It's a matter of debate and honestly I think a matter of what you want in a team. Do you want the best record? A backup QB who can lead a team? A tough schedule? A bruising defense? Something else?

Didn't the Dolphins beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship?When they talk about the only undefeated team in football who do they talk about

Yes, now you can lump the 2007 Pats in with that pre-SB Bears team that ran the table...and then lost the championship game.
 
I'm glad the 72 Dolphins are the only undefeated team. Yes, their bragging is tiresome, but they'll all be dead soon. If the Pats won today, we'd have to hear from idiots like Bruschi for another 40 years.

This one always gets me...who cares about their regular season schedule...They still had to get through the playoffs and SB!!
